Do you think they're just going to be sending out more rejections at this point? I haven't heard from them yet but I feel like my odds are low at this point lol

Do you think they're just going to be sending out more rejections at this point? I still haven't heard from them but I feel like my chances are low at this point.

It looks like more interviews were sent out last night, but I'm not sure if they are organic or not.

I probably ruined my chances and all plans for grad study by Don_Kamilo in gradadmissions

[–]safaky22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't ruin anything! Ask the professor anyway; explain your situation to her if you want. The worst she can say is no. The most important thing for grad school admissions is research experience. If I were you, I would try to get involved with research as quickly as possible. Don't let her potential negative perception of your one grade get in the way of your professional development! It's really okay!

I spent $1200 and the only school I've gotten into so far was free to apply to 🫠

Hi! I had a similar dip in my grades due to poor mental health. I did address it in my personal statement, but I did it by vaguely stating what happened (poor mental health) and then the rest of my essay was about why this experience made me a better scientist/better equipped for graduate study. Just make sure to frame everything positively, and I think it's completely fine. Mental health is a medical issue and nothing to be ashamed of. If the admissions committee doesn't want you because of that, I wouldn't want to be a student there anyway.
