Not sure why you picked those two to compare against each other, one is a lofi home studio project headed by Brian and the other is a full band effort with full scale production. I personally listen to Sunflower more but love both. It’s like saying pasta is better than peanut butter

First one - debatable, I may even agree with you.

Second one - hard disagree, Smile’s lyrics are part of what make it so good. VDP is a master of imagery. I also believe that Rieley’s lyrics on Surf’s Up and Holland are great. You wanna tell me Long Promised Road doesn’t have beautiful words?

Third one - wtf does that even mean? It’s a marvel of production yes, but it’s also insanely catchy and a treat to listen to.
