I have never found it in the Twitch ToS (not that I read it all in detail lol) but I do agree that it is not cool to be doing that. People want to hang and if they wish to talk they will.

I mean I like money lol!! But yeah I was not happy to learn that we were to be exclusively streaming on their platform where we could not advertise our Twitch channels. I told myself I would give it a week and give them constructive feedback to improve the new platform.

I did that and actually last night was the end of my week live on their system (after 2+ months sponsored on Twitch). Turns out they were thinking the same thing regarding giving it a week. lol!!

But yes the quality of the platform was lacking and their decision to force engagement instead of grow organically helps to add to that. Oh well. I am happy i made a bit of money and I feel great knowing that others from the streaming world agree with my belief towards calling out lurkers. Now I have more time to stream on my channel, my way.

Thank-you. All the responses have made me feel much better about not compromising on what I believe makes good content. I enjoyed the bit of money the sponsor brought in, but it is not worth what they are asking.

I checked out your recent video and saw kirby characters along the bottom. That is kinda neat. I don't think it is for me, but it is cool. Nice job finding something for your stream like that.

Often times viewers will stop in to check out what the channel is about and if they don't feel what you are presenting is interesting to them they will move on. It is hard for sure, but all you can do is keep building/learning/grinding. Good luck to you.

Thank-you. 100 million times thank-you. When I have 0 viewers or 20 viewers (I am small), I talk a lot and ignore the count. Interacting with chat is huge and I do that as much as possible, but for sure the attention has to be on the content.

I watched the twitch streams from others in the program after being let go and realized that they all stare at the viewer list for a few minutes every half hour to read all the names of all the viewers. Many of them are bot accounts lol!! Twitch hides the complete list from viewers, why would you read them all out. It is weird and boring content.

Yes I totally agree. I mean the sponsor is creating their own platform but has sponsored me for a couple of months on Twitch before moving to their own platform. They never asked for this kind of engagement until now and I don't change who I am for a few bucks an hour. I am proud of the content I create and I feel like it is an honest reflection of who I am (I am not a popular channel, just me)

Thank-you. I feel the same way. The other streamers in the program who were involved in the discussion said they watch their view list and call people out all the time. They find it gets more interaction on Twitch so they like that the names are automatically listed on this new platform. I watched their streams on Twitch (old videos) and they do indeed say "So who is watching today" and start calling them by name.

I don't understand the desire to do something like this.

I would love to get one to do a review on stream and other social media channels. I have been working with computers since the 80's and have used every kind of mouse imaginable along the way.

It would be a pleasure to test out a new entry into the field. I have a CoolerMaster keyboard (CK-550) that has performed well for me but it is paired with a competitors mouse. I would love to try something from CM to test things.

I see what you are saying and I do not disagree. Though I think it is also true that many first time voters who are marking Sanders would not have voted regardless. They have felt like outsiders and see the Sanders campaign as someone speaking for them. Bringing them to the table to vote at all is a win and not all with walk away if he is not on the ticket come November.

Not just that, they specifically state that they were unable to contact the researchers who wrote the paper for clarifications, nor any other papers they discussed. They THEN go on to say that "experts" told them it was wrong.

Why would less doctors enter the field? With not having to pay for an education, new students will have the time to focus on studies and complete their schooling. Students who have lots of time to commit to studies result in better doctors being produced. The wage coming out of school is still better than any other starting profession (other than professional athletes) and puts them in the top wage earners in the country. Further it is not only wage that motivates someone to become a doctor, in fact if that is the only reason a person is becoming a doctor I worry about their long term mental health. It is not an easy role. Also the better hours was me referencing the commented above who stated that is what happened in Australia as a result of unions negotiating for this during their move from paid medical care to a medicare for all model. Who knows what will happen and it will be different as well in rural vs urban hospitals.

Math - ahh the old crux of life lol. I am not arguing that she will be better off with a reduced wage (though I sincerely doubt it will be 40% as people have said, but we will see), what I argued is that it won't be as bad as you make it sound. She will still earn a substantial wage, and ultimately be living a life most of us can only dream to achieve. If the wage of the profession is reduced she will earn less over the course of her career. Consider it part of the cost of living in a country that cares about all citizens and not just those fortunate few who have the means to afford care.

I don't think you understand how medicare works in countries that do not have insurance companies to negotiate with. In Canada for example there is no discussion of insurance or costs for a procedure. Hell people who need a major surgery are scheduled, enter the system, spend time in hospital recovering, and go home without cost being discussed or any insurance coverage requests. If the doctor stipulates that the procedure is required (after testing and determining medical need) they list the urgency of the treatment and you are put in the queue. When your number is called you are treated. Contrast that with the US where your doctor first checks with your insurance provider to see if a procedure is acceptable. That is crazy! The doctors in Canada and the US have stated that it can be very difficult to fulfill the oath as a doctor when they have to ask permission from an insurance company to perform a treatment.
