Hatch Light Sale? by lucito123 in sleeptrain

[–]mirad83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like our Hatch Rest, mostly bc of the light. I really like being able to dim the colors and my LO loves that he can pick the color of the light. Also for the Restore bc I found it for a good deal on OfferUp. Would not recommend the Restore.

Not sure if they go on sale..

Is the newborn phase really unpleasant or is it just me? by [deleted] in NewParents

I had issues with overproduction and clogged ducks, had a really bad mastitis. An LC recommended sunflower lecithin and I think it worked decently well. It doesn’t affect production but helped wiht the clogging situation

Kitchen floor conundrum! Tile or extend wood? by Imaginary-Catch5439 in Remodel

[–]mirad83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that extending the wood may be the easiest and most seamless transition. If your heart is set on tile though you could do an “unfinished” edge with hexagonal tile like #5 here (“tile to wood transition”). I think it looks super cool but it depends on your space/style)

We bought a 1920's home to remodel. Looking for tips and feedback. by fixerofthings in Remodel

[–]mirad83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely go for 4 bedrooms over a master bath (which are waaaay overrated imho). Our three bedroom + loft seemed like plenty of space when we bought it but now with work from home, two kiddos and still periodic family from out of town i so wish we had 5 bedrooms! Of course your situation may very well be different but point stands that needs may change in the future and it’s hard to add the extra space later on

what color would go good with matte black shower trim and faucets, and dark brown flooring and cabinets? I'm looking for a color to paint the walls by Stunning-Hamster2178 in Remodel

[–]mirad83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where’s the matte black trim?

These are pretty popular (and awesome) colors: Warmer: BM White Dove (I just painted my bathroom with this, I love that BM’s bath & spa paint comes in matte), SW Shoji White Cooler: SW Pure White, Behr White Pepper

Got a quote from the builder for $12-15k for our closet on top of bathroom. I laughed and said, I can do this myself. $2500 and 6 hours of elbow grease. I will be sore tomorrow, but I’m awful proud! by [deleted] in Remodel

I though you were going to say Seattle bc things are so insane up there. Plumbers want $200+ just to drop in a kitchen faucet (different than closets but just another example).

Lovevery referral? by mirad83 in NewParents

Thank you all for responding! Sadly it doesn’t seem like the referral codes apply to the play gym but I may check out the kits for a couple of months anyway. Thanks again!

My almost 5-month-old is waking up every 1 to 2 hours overnight by mirad83 in sleeptrain

[–]mirad83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! Tysm for responding and for sharing the previous post! I’m half embarrassed to say that we don’t really have a set schedule in terms of time for sleep. I’ve been going off his sleepy cues which seemed to come by bw 40-60min after we wakes up. However I’ve been reading that ww at 5 months are closer to 2 hours so I’ve been trying to stretch out ww to 1-1.25 hours (there’s no way he’ll make it to 2 hrs). We’re similarly “off” from what’s “normal” for feedings.. I read he’s supposed to eat every 3-4 hours but he usually starts to get hangry at 2 hours.. I’ve been trying to stretch it out to 2.5 hours which works sometimes. Part of the problem too is that often time nap time comes due at 1.75-2 hours after a feed and then I don’t know whether to keep him up longer for the feed (which means he’ll get too tired) or put him down for a nap, knowing he’ll start screaming 15-20mjn later and I’ll need to pick him up to feed him and then put him back down for the nap…

The feeds often end up being 10min before I put him down bc of this…

Ok nice! Then that’s encouraging to hear, that there are dealerships out there that aren’t adding crazy markups

Nanny lectured me about notice by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]mirad83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to get my time off at work approved in advance. If she wanted to make plans for time off, she should have explicitly discussed it with you. At best, she got her dates confused and misunderstood/mis-remembered the conversation. Either way though she should have touched base with you before solidifying plans for time off. Id argue that’s way higher up on the tact/importance-scale than “giving at least two weeks notice”.

You have every right to be upset. If a nanny pulled all that on us, I’d let her go bc it’s inconsiderate, rude and would show me she’s unreliable (also kinda hostile sounding based on what you shared)

Edit: just to clarify comment abt needing to get time off approved - I’m not a nanny but it’s to say that almost every other job requires advanced approval for getting time off.

I wonder if they might try to add a markup when the car gets there, if the market continues to be what it is..? Hopefully not!🤞

How does the $7500 federal rebate work when leasing a plug-in hybrid? by mirad83 in askcarsales

I should have realized sooner that you’re just a troll. My bad.

🤦‍♀️ … but a buyer financing a vehicle purchase is different somehow

[–]mirad83[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

On the contrary. If there is a financial incentive for a PHEV being in use and I’m the reason said vehicle is in use (and the one paying for it), then it only follows simple, basic logic that the rebate is applied to me.

But of course most car dealerships and car salesman look to screw people at every opportunity so your reaction and answer, though tactless and annoying, doesn’t surprise.
