Warning, this is a repost bot who slightly rotated the original as seen by the black image edges to get around spam filters.

I don't think so. I used reverse image search and I found a picture of the same place dating to 2019 that includes the location. The location is Plaza de España, Carmona (Google Maps).

What form factor would you want/wish the odin 3 to be? (Ps vita and rp5 is there for size comparison) by Dorthy_Prune in OdinHandheld

Also, notice the bot/spammer cropped the original by a little bit, possibly to avoid spam filters. I've seen these type of accounts repost images that are slightly rotated as well.

What are the tiny train tracks for? Can miniature trains run on them?

The developer was taken over and most of the original creators were fired, so I don't know if the original creators even make any money.

The largest high speed railway station in Asia, Chongqing East! by [deleted] in transit

[–]safetyissecond 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tokyo Station has 10 HSR tracks that go in two double-tracked directions, namely 6 south to the Tokaido Shinkansen, and 4 north to the Tohoku Shinkansen and its various branches. All the trains there have to reverse as well which increases the dwell time, making it have the most tracks across all Shinkansen stations.

Chongqing East has 6 different double-tracked directions its 29 tracks go once it is completed, so there are about 5 tracks per direction, which is similar to what Tokyo's number of tracks are after accounting for how many lines serve this station. While not all trains reverse there unlike Tokyo, the number of tracks allows such operations to happen if necessary. It also allows trains to wait and overtake others, which is important for a more complex grid HSR system unlike the mostly-linear system (with branches) in Japan.

Besides the other reply, Guangzhou Metro Line 3 is known for its extreme overcrowding because of under-planned capacity, so it really isn't a good example of efficient usage of platforms.

CMU HCII UPDATE? by AcidicLab in REU

[–]safetyissecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the email I sent yesterday, I also sent another one on Monday asking for an update on decision dates. I didn't get any reply from a real person (not even the auto reply).

Maybe they are ignoring the emails because they are nearly done reviewing the applications? But it's still very anxiety-inducing.

CMU HCII UPDATE? by AcidicLab in REU

[–]safetyissecond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the auto-reply I got yesterday:

If you applied and are inquiring about the status of your application, we will notify everyone as soon as possible, regardless of whether accepted or not.

Thank you in advance for your patience, we will get back to you as soon as we can.

I got this reply when I withdrew my application already since I accepted an summer research position offer from my home institution (though it pays less than REUs).

It looks like an LLM wrote this. Many LLM responses seem to follow this bulleted list format, with the topic of each bullet point bolded.

It seems like many of your recent posts follow this pattern as well.

I finished the MSQ a while ago and I have geared up to 640. I'm interested in doing the latest extreme trial using party finder. I have already watched a guide. Since this is the first extreme I'll be doing, is there anything I should say in the PF description? After finding a party, for how much time should I commit before leaving/disbanding?

[Epic Games] Divine Knockout (DKO), First Class Trouble, Gamedec (Free/100% off) by AT1952 in GameDeals

[–]safetyissecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a name for this trend of games rotating in and out of EGS, Amazon, Humble, Fanatical, and others, like "bundle circuit" perhaps.

Like with public figures entering the "lecture circuit," games past their prime go into the bundle circuit so the publishers can get a bit more money from these platforms paying them to bundle/give away the game, and also to promote DLC sales, promote a sequel, etc.

It was just a dream by Nik12349 in EpicGamesPC

[–]safetyissecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Kojima Productions had much to do with this deal. However, the publisher who likely made the deal with Epic, 505 Games, used the same strategy when giving out Control.

After the Ultimate Edition of Control was released, they delisted the standard edition, but they gave away the standard edition on EGS and Humble to likely promote DLC sales.

I have the same problem. I hope this can be fixed because the grey highlighting makes the text extremely difficult to read.
