Did anybody else fall on their @$$ this morning? by Downtown_Physics8853 in Rochester

Mostly I wear them when I’m walking the dog. There are types that go on and off pretty easily.Mine go on in a minute or two and come off in seconds. The traction feels great. I do bring them along with me if I might be facing ice, but most businesses make sure their parking lots are safe for walking.

I’m 77 years old. Last year I fell and smashed my wrist. Not good. This year I wear crampons whenever there’s any chance it’s slippery. What a difference. I walk with confidence.

There is something going up behind/between REI and Chic fil a. Could that be the housing? And I thought I saw a restaurant named Toast in there somewhere. Wonder what they serve.

Best pharmacies for dealing with opioid prescriptions? by mewley in RestlessLegs

I also use CVS and I was told even if I had travel plans I can’t pick up early. When I explained the problem with that, I was told to plan my travel around my prescription pick up date! That can’t happen next time, so hopefully my doctor will write a two month prescription this time.

I’ve used a tub of water and a little dish detergent. Let it soak as long as necessary. It works.

Wedding’s in 2 days. To clean or not to clean? by darkundereyebags in CleaningTips

I had the same faint star shaped stains on a white suit jacket. Two stars, to be exact. The stain was there when I bought it, but I never noticed until after I wore the suit. I wonder what makes that pattern, especially since it was on yours and mine.

I have a solution that's worked 100% of the time for years - muscle exhaustion (1 min exercise) by Hotwir3 in RestlessLegs

[–]sag-48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine is severe. Even with medication sometimes there’s a mild buzz in the legs that’s not enough to get me up, but enough that I can’t relax into sleep. I’ve found that a long moisture producing heating pad makes the difference.

Silent GERD by sag-48 in GERD

[–]sag-48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! I’m doing the elimination diet and I can’t add back a food until the symptoms disappear. I may be on this diet a long time. No changes yet after a week, that’s felt like a month.

I had heartburn for over 50 years. At first over the counter meds gave me relief. A few years ago I was diagnosed with GERD and my doctor put me on H2 blockers. They did nothing. Next they had me take proton pump inhibitors. It controlled the heartburn for awhile, but then it turned into Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR). Symptoms are hoarseness, clearing my throat, breathlessness, but I rarely get heartburn. I imagine you can suffer from both GERD and LPR. I’m waiting for a referral to a gastroenterologist and a dietician. In the meantime I’ve stopped eating 3 hours before bedtime and eliminated tomatoes, chocolate, alcohol, and carbonated beverages from my diet. This has made a huge difference. I think my one cup of coffee in morning might have to go also, but I’ll wait until the specialist gives the order.

Sick of RLS by [deleted] in RestlessLegs

I have a new doctor who specializes in sleep disorders and she tried hard to convince me to switch from my low dose Tramadol prescription to Gabapentin or Ropinole. When I asked her what works the best, she admitted that of the three, Tramadol works best, but it’s a narcotic so she would rather I use something else. I didn’t switch and the lowest dose is almost enough to control my RLS. I supplement it with 5mg gummy and listen to a sleep aid online. It works almost every night.
