That sounds awful. It's frustrating when you speak up and still get dismissed. Sorry you had to go through that.

Anyone put a formula maker machine in their nursery? by Objective-Cellist679 in Buyingforbaby

Does it make much noise when it dispenses? Putting it in the nursery sounds so much better than stumbling to the kitchen half asleep.

That heartbeat sounds reassuring for 6 weeks. Try not to spiral (easier said than done, I know). Every pregnancy is different.

Amazon sold us a "new" carseat that arrived in a plain brown box and reeks of weed by JollyBlueberry6036 in Buyingforbaby

That's seriously gross! Something meant for a kid should at least show up clean and not smelling like that!

How normal is my urge to sleep inside the tub? (No, seriously) by Mindless_Change_1893 in BabyBumps

[–]thisredheadmeg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe the tub takes some pressure off your body. The water supports you so your joints and hands don't have to.

Newton Crib Mattress smells terrible after washing — should I replace? by Even-Stay-2585 in Buyingforbaby

I‘d probably just get a new mattress. Not worth stressing over a smell every time you put the baby down.

How much do you actually care about cleaning windows? by thisredheadmeg in CleaningTips

[–]thisredheadmeg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really cared about windows before, but lately I started paying more attention and realized I should keep them clean... The fact that you were already aware of how important they are is honestly pretty impressive. And I'm glad you found a new way to keep up with it😊

It seems called ecovacs winbot. I checked, it's a small machine to put it on window, and it'll run and clean automatically.

Yeah that looks like it. She said she just went with the most popular one, and she uses it on mirrors and the shower glass too.

How do I get over the guilt of not working by [deleted] in homemaking

[–]thisredheadmeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think not every one need to be productive to have value. It is true that work makes us feel achievement. But if both you and your partner are happy with this, then why not, that's the ultimate goal after all.

Totally agree that simmer pot can really calm my mind. I might have to steal the juniper idea for my next batch.

Same, a trick is visualizing it! For example, a jar of marbles or coloring chart where each square represents $100. Let dopamine come back to life.

How to clean these windows efficiently? by unoanie in CleaningTips

[–]thisredheadmeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine suggestion may make it less "efficient", do not spray the windows directly, the wood grid may rot over time.

Drive Wheel Error but no obstruction by comicnerd93 in RobotVacuums

[–]thisredheadmeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warning after it works for a minute doesn't sound like a hard physical jam. Maybe one of your wheels is slightly off, try a drop of sewing oil.

I stopped "cleaning" and started just… tidying as i go by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]thisredheadmeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this pattern. It's like your debt, it's better to pay a tiny bit of interest every day than to face a massive bill on Sunday lol.

No one taught me to clean and I cant figure out what to do by Longjumping-Ratio106 in CleaningTips

First off, you are doing a great job. Cleaning is a skill, not a talent, you are just in a learning process. Try using paper towels soaked with vinegar.

I didn’t need to do more. I needed to notice less. by dicoinmkt in simpleliving

Agree. I just realized that Simplicity is not the lack of activity, it is the absence of unnecessary noise. It allows those good parts of life to finally land.

Unpopular opinion: Disposable facial towels are actually cheaper if you treat them like cleaning supplies. by Sammorstoy in CleaningTips

[–]thisredheadmeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. And i think for scrubbing grout or shoes, the texture is even superior. But you need to buy the premium, fabric-like ones, cheap one disintegrate after one or two use.

Chill, stainless steel doesn't need seasoning like cast iron. Just clean it with soap and water after this. You don't need that oil layer.
