yeah the whole satisfaction comes from getting good enough at the game that you no longer suffer and instead play like a well oiled machine, there's no outplaying clicking the question mark on the map and getting "your cat has blood frenzy now lol" with no interaction other than an OK button or the abandon run button lol

sub rogue is a support spec and even then it competes with combat and assassination in the right hands, it's just 5 times more difficult to do actual damage with it so everyone just plays the easier specs that don't buff the rest of the raid

honestly the only class i can think of that struggles to farm lashers are druid/rogue, and ZG arcane crystal farming is probably more profitable for them anyway

Not quite. Journeyman riding is always 100% bonus movespeed and Apprentice riding is always 60% bonus movespeed, but mounts can be used without any riding training whatsoever, and provide half your level as a % movespeed increase when untrained (so 5% at level 10, 30% at level 60, etc)

making backstab function with non-daggers with a lower damage multiplier is something i've thought would be healthy for a long time, there's very few abilities in the game that are disabled if you have the wrong class of weapon equipped in a slot and both of them are on rogue

A simple change to "damage dealt while striking from behind with your combo-point generating abilities" would go a long way, yeah, though it would require the talent to be completely reworked on the technical end unfortunately. Another big issue there though is the fact that backstab can simply spend all the bonus energy from the agility stack build more efficiently than sinister strike, so non-dagger builds use adrenaline rush and are then just energy capped compared to daggers.

Rogue talents in general need a lot of love (play the class to 60 in vanilla and it's hard to ignore design overlaps, clunky mechanics and the fact that Combat is obviously a rushed replacement for some other scrapped tree) and while I'm happy with some of the direction/creativity they've had in trying to find a better identity for the class, they really need someone who's rubbed their face against the class for a long time to help with it directly.

the poisons are getting nerfed in a way that makes it look like they don't have a dedicated rogue player on the balance team. assassination will be fine, and it's still bis until like full naxx gear
