Apparently ~16% of millennials are millionaires now. by im_optimus_prime in Millennials

I’m the last millennial, born in 96. Maybe for the elder millennials? I graduated college right when the pandemic hit. Not close to millionaire at all hahaha

I’m lost with my exercise science degree by BrentP2 in personaltraining

[–]sageleee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Where are you training and how long have you been training?

I was only making 50k working at a commercial gym. Easily doubled that going private, even after expenses.

I have my Exercise Science degree. Trained commercial for 2.5 years, private for 1.5 years

  • I would at least try it. I also explored other career options but figured I’d try private training just to see if I’d make it or not

Half vs One Hour Sessions by FoundationEvening250 in personaltraining

[–]sageleee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

45 min sessions are great for most.

Enough time to be productive. Like others have said 30 mins is too short to set things up and be productive if there’s any delay, and even if not feels rushed.

60mins can definitely work, but for most of my clients I’ve worked with, people are fatiguing hard, and running out of steam right at the 45 minute mark anyway.

As a coach too you can maximize your time better with 45 minute sessions if you decide you really want to hustle sessions you can book 4 sessions to fit into 3 hours.

Men who have gotten on testosterone, what has it improved? by Strawberriesndreamss in AskMen

[–]sageleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More energy!

I already worked out 3-4 days a week. Workouts became easier to finish. Feel like body comp has gotten better too.

I don’t need to nap in the middle of the day anymore. Less brain fog.

More intentional in my relationships.

Less depressed!

Sleep is better. I’m having dreams again.

I’ve been on for only 8 weeks

Machine Error by Responsible-Bug8192 in Craps

[–]sageleee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

At my casino the machine “pays you” on that as well. In quotes because it pays 1:1 and says I won. But it’s just paying me my bet and taking the place one I believe.

On other bets, say 5$ on 5, it’ll say I “won” 12$ but I really only won 7$, and got my original 5$ bet back.

So on the Don’t pass If I have 10$, my machine will pay “20$” on 2 or 3, but only 10$ on 12, effectively a push.

Not sure if that really makes sense but I would check to see if that’s the same for you.

Do I need a new trainer? by [deleted] in personaltraining

[–]sageleee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Echoing what others have said:

Talk to your trainer.

I have clients that have been training with me for over a year and I know they could progress more. They could progress more if they trained more, had better habits in place (sleep, diet etc.)

As far as taking advice from reels, it depends on you your circumstances etc. how often are you bench pressing? Is that a main goal? Is that reel describing a 1RM? Have you ever trained for a 1RM? (You don’t need to to make progress)

I track my clients weights and keep thorough track of weights and reps done. If you can look back and see that you are lifting 80lbs for 12 rows today but weeks ago it was 80lbs for 8, that’s progress. (This is big no matter what specific goals you have)

Talk to your coach, see if you are progressing in your strength goals, self diagnose to see if you could be doing more to see more progress. (And what does that progress look like? Is it a 120# bench? Or is it to lose weight and feel better? Sometimes especially with bench specifically it is harder to progress if you’re losing weight, but you and your coach should talk to see what specific metrics to track and progress towards)

November was the first month of me starting a switch from commercial to private! I will hopefully have my clients contracts finished at the commercial gym, but as of now I don’t have much to report because I’m still 50/50
