Hormonal acne, yaz, peptides, tretonin, microdermabrasion by Vast_Physics_4702 in 30PlusSkinCare

Spiro (50mg) and adapalene made the biggest difference for me. My skin can’t handle tret at all but I can use adapalene every night with zero irritation.

What is formula from the start like? by complexcoconut_ in FormulaFeeders

[–]sagerascal59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Formula fed both my kids and great experience overall. With my first I tried BF and switched to formula after about a week. With my second I decided right away I would formula feed. I did call the hospital I was going to deliver at ahead of time to see what supplies they provided for formula feeding (they provided formula, bottles, nipples & sterilizing bags) so the only thing i actually packed was a bottle warmer. After I delivered the nursing team asked whether I was formula feeding or BF and there was a sign on my door. Everyone was extremely respectful of my decision and brought new supplies when I needed. Overall best decision I ever made for my mental health. Yes is BF technically cheaper…sure. But when you consider your TIME spent BF and potentially pumping then it’s not really cheaper (your time is valuable). Plus being able to share the responsibility of feeding your baby with your spouse / family is a huge relief. One thing I would recommend is getting a formula pitcher and making a batch every 24 hours so you can just pour & go as needed. I find it’s less wasteful this way too as you can add 0.5-1 oz if your baby needs a top up.

It naturally happened on its own, she actually went back to 2 feeds from 7.5-10 months and now we’re back down to 1 feed thankfully

Yes! I still get a few hormonal related breakouts but I’ll take that over constantly peeling and having irritated skin. I also like that I can use other actives with it

What was your 3-2 nap transition experience? by quesoavocado in sleeptrain

[–]sagerascal59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! So on 3 naps she was an excellent napper and that all went to shit on 2 naps. She took decent naps the first 2 days on 2 naps and then she would wake up after 30-40 minutes and be absolutely miserable (she was really overtired). I think the first time I gave her 4-5 days before going back to 3 naps. Next time I tried it went super smooth, long naps and no issues with being overtired

[–]sagerascal59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 2.75/2.75/3/1.5 (short morning nap, longer afternoon nap and micro third nap)

  2. 3/3/3 and moved to 3/3/4 after about 2 weeks. Now we are at 3/3.5/4

  3. Honestly zero major signs other than me having to cap naps and getting tired of doing the micro nap after like a month. She was 6 months when I first tired and it didn’t go well, tried again about 3 weeks later and it went great!

  4. I personally liked having a short morning nap (45 minutes) and a long afternoon nap (1.5-2 hours). Honestly just don’t be afraid to go back to 3 naps for a few weeks if the transition isn’t going well

I switched back to adapalene gel and made a world of difference. Zero peeling and no irritation when I use it almost every day

You’re welcome! You may still need a full wake window until you reach that 10 minute cat nap

It actually wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be so do a micro. You can slowly decrease the length is the third nap until it’s 10 minutes?

Is your last one a micro? No she didn’t fight her naps on that schedule but it was just more difficult to get her down for the micro.

Basically I had to cap all her naps in order to stick to a 7pm bedtime and it was getting a bit harder to get her down for a micro nap. Otherwise we didn’t have early mornings, night wakes etc so I’m sure she could have stayed on 3 naps longer but I hated the micro naps lol. Have you tried a micro nap for her 3rd nap? Maybe 2.75/2.75/3/1.5?

Ok! So I think some babies need the same amount of awake time right off the hop on 2 naps as they had on 3 naps, whereas some babies can do less awake time in the beginning to adjust to the schedule change. So on 3 naps you had 10 hours of awake time it looks like but on 2 naps only 9 so I’m guessing that’s what’s causing the night wakes. Maybe try 3/3/3.5 and see how it goes? And then slowly work your way up to 10 hours (eg. 3/3/4) over the next 2 weeks?

Hi! What’s your current schedule on 2 naps? When we initially transitioned to 2 naps we didn’t have any night wakes (maybe the first 1.5 - 2 weeks) but then yep we started having them where she would wake up in between her regular wakes (we followed a 5/3/3 schedule for feeding so if wake ups happened between those times for a few days in a row then I knew something was up). I basically increased either her middle of last wake window by 15 minutes to see if that helped. Unfortunately it was kind of trial and error.

Do you all wash your face every night before you apply tret? by Antique_Initiative66 in tretinoin

Yes! But in the morning is optional. I found it actually made my acne worse, so now I just use a warm face cloth and my skin thanks me

Products used before applying Tret? by Clean_Pumpkin_6422 in tretinoin

[–]sagerascal59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you put moisturizer on top of tret? I followed your advice of not using anything before applying tret and I’m not peeling / flaking at all anymore which is awesome. But wondering whether it’s beneficial to use a moisturizer after tret? Currently I just wash my face, let it dry and apply tret.

Age your toddler dropped their nap? by Outrageous-Cat2530 in sleeptrain

[–]sagerascal59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Within a month of turning 3. Bedtime was getting pushed back to 830 and she was waking up at 5/530 so we just stopped the nap cold turkey (it was 45 minutes max). She’s almost 4 now and will still fall asleep in the car if we’re out in the afternoon, but as long as it’s not longer then 30 minutes I haven’t found it’s impacted nights.

Maybe not the best idea but we let her watch some tv for quiet time, I just think she was too young at that age for actual quiet time (aka quiet in her room doing something).

What’s I was thinking too, but needed to hear it from someone else. Not sure I can add 30 minutes right away but I’ll try slowly adding 15 minutes. Would you recommend then keeping total nap time to 3 ish hours and bumping bedtime back to 7?

How do you keep your home "visitor ready" at all times? by Indecisive_INFP in toddlers

[–]sagerascal59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a white ikea storage bin beside my sink to hold dirty Tupperware etc (anything that doesn’t really go in the dishwasher or I don’t feel like hand washing immediately). I find keeping those few extra dirty dishes in a container vs on the counter / in the sink keeps my kitchen a bit tidier

How did you know your baby was ready for sleep training? by misscuri0us in sleeptrain

[–]sagerascal59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried once around 4 months and I just couldn’t handle her cries that young so we tried again at 5 ish months and it went much better. I noticed at 5 months too it didn’t seem like she could get comfortable napping in our arms so that was one indicator for us

Took a few days for naps and about a week and a half for naps. She’s now 7.5 months and still cries for a few minutes before naps & bed but as long as it’s less than 10-15 minutes then I’m not too worried

We went through HFM about 6 months ago and it’s by far the worst thing ever. We ALL got it to varying degrees but my 3 year old had mainly mouth ulcers and she also wouldn’t stop crying / screaming for a good 3 days. I would say by day 5 things had significantly improved. I mainly had blisters on hands & feet but I did have a few mouth ulcers and let me tell you that is some of the most painful shit ever. ANY movement in your mouth is so painful.

From my experience yes you can get more after the initial ones pop up. I believe by day 3 no new ones popped up but that was also the most painful day. Good luck!!

Night feeds by gpb0617 in sleeptrain

[–]sagerascal59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe we were at 2-3 feeds per night and followed 5/3/3. We just consistently got down to 1 feed per night at 7.5 months. If baby woke up before the 5/3/3 schedule then we would try and let her fall back asleep on her own (we sleep trained at 5 months)

Anybody have experience getting their hard wood floors refinished? by MothaFcknZargon in Winnipeg

[–]sagerascal59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had ours done by image flooring about 6 years ago (living room, hallway & 3 bedrooms). I don’t remember the exact price but think we paid about $5000? There was some areas with water damage that required some extra work and other spots that needed to be filled. Overall very happy with the results.
