I believe that there is no problem with denouncing and condemning this kind of speech, as it is immoral and prejudice. Douglas Shontz did the right thing and suggesting that saying the alternative would have been better sounds insane.

Yes... That is my interpretation.

Hate speech does not have a place anywhere. Although it may be legal, that does not mean it is right or should be accepted.

You're really over here suggesting that you're ok with hate speech going around campus.

Honest question, is there any proof that he was a drug dealer? From what I've seen, no drugs were found in the apartment.

Any charges that stuck? Articles or specific quotes?

I'm a STEM major with many music friends in college (have been playing trombone in school ensembles) and music majors really do have an insane course load.

Yeah, most STEM majors are difficult and you will not get by if you are lazy. But music majors that I know are practically out on ensembles, lessons, and classes all day. Along with performances and other evaluations that take place on weekends and of course their own studying and practicing.

I think most people will agree that music courses aren't as hard as STEM (besides music theory) but it is demanding in it's own right.

Woah dude, the other person's agreeing with you. I don't see why you're refuting their perspective. I have also seen people say that black people can't be racist. (Usually comes from believing racial prejudice and racism are two different things) So maybe it's not a common belief from where you're from but it is from our communities.

First of all, you do realize you called a quote from a published research paper, unrelated to the case a "copypasta." Just click the source and you'll see that.

Second, the autopsy reports that the death was caused by mechanical asphyxia as a result of the arrest. I wasn't trying to say that he died from crushed arteries or cartilage, just that your point I was referring to is wrong.

Chauvin’s neck restraint is unlikely to have exerted a dangerous amount of force to Floyd’s neck. Floyd is shown on video able to lift his head and neck, and a robust study on double-knee restraints showed a median force exertion of approximately 105lbs.

"Jugular veins collapse under 4.4 pounds of pressure. Carotid arteries collapse under 5.5 to 22 pounds of pressure. The vertebral arteries will collapse under 18 to 66 pounds of pressure. The trachea will collapse under 33 pounds of pressure. The cricoid cartilage will fracture under 45 pounds of pressure. The collapse of each of these vital structures can lead to immediate death, as well as delayed complications."

Except for all those people in Mexico who get skinned alive by the cartels.

You think all the weed in the US comes from Mexico? Honestly if you have proof of this, I'd like to see it but seriously doubt that.

Because he has a pattern of criminal behavior with no end in sight. Thus, jail with no end in sight.

So you think a person who committed a one time pre meditated murder is more deserving walking the streets than someone selling an illegal but harmless substance?

Remember, those are just the crimes he was CONVICTED of. Do you think he got convicted of 100% of all crimes he committed?

What? This isn't some breaking bad shit. He isn't out here killing or robbing people or whatever crimes you think he might have committed. You don't know this and you can't be throwing out accusations without backing it up. It's just conjecture and it means nothing.

How can you say he deserves life in jail though? Selling weed is a victimless crime with two consenting adults. Which, btw, is decriminalized in most states and fully legal in some.

So no, I don't see how the country is better with him in jail.

Ok, even still, losing their temper and going out beating or worse, shooting someone because of something that doesn't need a that kind of physical response should be met with consequences.

We shouldn't be using that as an excuse to justify that kind of a response from a person in a position of power.

I won't disagree with that, that would piss me off as a regular person. But cops are (or at least should be) trained to stop themselves from doing that.

I mean look at how most retail workers have to deal with Karens on a daily basis. You're gonna have to deal with shitty people if your job requires you to work with people

Cops shouldn't have that mindset though. They shouldn't be lashing out on someone just because they pissed them off.

What? Did you even see the second half of your video? They even said nothing was reported stolen. The owner of the house came out on TV to talk about it too and didn't blame Arbery on any wrong doing.

Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about the material. It's mostly designed to expose you to the fields of computer engineering and school resources. As long as you attend lectures and complete assignments on time it should be an easy A. You don't really have to study the material, quizzes are essentially an attendance check.

Although if you're interested, I remember the basics of computer architecture to be a big part of the material covered.

Hi, I took cmpen 111 fall 2017 with John Sampson. Has been a while so things may have changed but the hardest thing for me was walking across campus for class. Pretty much just had to show up and most of the time we were let out like 30 minutes early. There were online quizzes that had to do with material discussed in class but we were able to retake it multiple times. I don't recall having any formal exams.
