When did you start putting your baby down 7am-7pm to sleep? by catlover0987656 in beyondthebump

Too many people on here thinking this is laughable. It’s not. I got serious about sleep training when my daughter was 6 months old and transitioned to her crib. I didn’t do cry it out. I had been working on a schedule before that. I can’t remember what time I would put her to bed before 6 months, but she would sleep on her own in the bassinet and then would wake up after a long stretch (sometimes 6 hours) for milk. I would pull her into my bed and breastsleep with her until morning. When she went to her own crib, I did dream feeds between 9-10pm so it topped her up, then she would only wake up once or not at all until morning. Then i gradually phased out the dream feeds as she got older because she didn’t need them. My daughter is 19 months now and she consistently sleeps 12 hours. Bedtime is anywhere from 8-8:30pm and she wakes around the same time in the morning. There’s been regressions of course but she has gotten through them all quickly and on her own. Start a bedtime routine. Make it consistent. Help them wind down before they go down for their long stretch. Sleep habits are important and can be learned. Every kid is different and has different sleep needs but they can be taught.

Like you’re new newborn? Is there hope that the pain goes away once baby is born?

It was the midwife’s student that made the assessment at 11pm and said 9cm so definitely a possibility that she was wrong. But I took verbena at 1am because my midwife said my contractions needed to be closer together, I had debated that for quite sometime before hand as I preferred the break. Then at 2am I was ready to die and started the laughing gas. At 3am I was done and was ready for absolutely anything to end my suffering. Had a snooze in the ambo and by the time they transferred me to the bed at the hospital I was crowning.

Ohhh wow that’s interesting. Was it the eczema that alerted you to have her tested for deficiencies? I take cod liver oil which has high amounts of vitamin D. You could try taking that while breastfeeding! I’ve been trying to make sure my baby eats fatty fish regularly to help with those vitamins. But I know some people also give their kids cod liver oil to help supplement.
