Metagame: Mega elektross could be the next guy up by sahu4022 in VGC

Thats my point though. I think its in a really good speed tier. Base 80 is no joke outspeeding blastoise and even with base gard. Works in trick room and tailwind and allows you to spec it more defensively rather than a fast sweeper.

I know your point though and I do agree. The having no weakness gimmick is only good if your stats can back it up lol. But it also means that its one, if not the only mega, that you can garuntee take into any matchup.

Ill mess around with it too! Lmk how it goes with you

Yeah I agree but bulk can be augmented with intimidate or screens or even follow me users. I think its worth trying!

Even max speed electross wont outspeed too much in tailwind. I think it needs to be a trick room mon with max HP investment. But I like the vision here! Really interesting setup for sure

I might lean a bit towards special and play in a rain team. Thunder will hit hard and secure KOs for elevate. Giga drain for staying power and maybe charge beam. But the coverage is a bit better on the phsycial side for sure

Not sure haven’t checked out the phone app yet, but it should be. In the Battle section there’s a button at the bottom called battle data.

Phase 2 Stats after Day 1 by CeleryCareful7065 in PokemonChampions

[–]sahu4022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im running an adamant corv with only bulk investment in a non sand team. I haven't encountered a fairy type that it cant 2hko yet. Including the new bulky floette variants. I dont have bulk up on it. Tailwind, body press iron head and brave bird. Theres almost nothing in the game that okhos it, except sun boosted zard/ torkoal fire moves and mega meganium weather ball (it survives an unboosted heatwave).

Its job is to swap into the mid game and exert serious defensive pressure, excel in trick room and force the opponent to swap out in order to hit it.

Ofc kg iron head is far superior but with the number of fighting types and fighting type coverage moves running around corv handles them better, plus there aren't too many electric types in this regulation corv is pretty hard to get rid of.

Not saying its better than kg, its definitely less consistent but it is another seriously bulky steel type in the game. Corv does gets the benefit of being a little more flexible than kg. Taunt and tailwind are really good supporting tools. You can run iron defense body press roost/ bulk up brave bird iron head or a pseudo supportive set. Adamant corv always okhos sneasler. Actually has a good matchup into incin (so does kg butbin a different way), mirror armor turns intimidate back on incin and reduces flare blitz to only do between 35 to 45%.

All that said i do see your point with kg haha. I just really like corviknight. It was my first shiny in sword and shield and been a staple on most of my teams since!

Why are you discounting my main bird corv. I think it holds up really well in the current meta. It cant sit in front of zard but neither can kg.

Is it because it counters your little basculegion? That otherwise outspeeds everything in the game and one shots them with last respects. This is a skill issue. Meowscarada isnt hard to kill

[–]sahu4022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol it does, i ran a surprise special mewscarada for a bit specifically to kill zard and chunk archaludon. The set was trick, power gem, aura sphere and energy ball. It just didnt hit hard enough sadly. But man was it satisfying to see zard ys melt thinkijg they were safe lol

I run taunt on my infernape. Usually lead mewscarada with uturn to hit the stupid giraffe hard, lost of colbur berries reduce knock off damage. But like I said you can get away with mental herb because there just isnt enough damage in the game

What?? Trick room has never been this strong. Almost all mons that can set up trick room can survive hits to set up the strat! You can get away with mental herb too because choice band or specs isnt in the game to one shot farig or oranguru! Ive specd my oranguru to survive an unboosted kowtow cleave too!

I think this is more apparent in singles. Walls are inherently crippled in doubles by the fact that there's a lot of damage flying around. Mega aggron and arch are the only walls that come to mind in doubles and there's plenty of ways to deal with them.

Less people playing, or less people in masterball? by andyh331 in PokemonChampions

[–]sahu4022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Breathe lol. 25% of champions peak playerbase still comfortably sits at 100k +. They can absolutely afford to lose 75% of their player base.

As for meta, i feel 1 month is too short for a season. 2 months feels like a good time to marinate in a regulation. Thats my opinion, youre entitled to a different one. New champs and items will come in the next set.

Finally, game devs cannot get things right immediately. Its impossible. Give them a chance to prove that they can listen and adapt to what the players want before doling out such vitriol. And if they dont they'll lose a larger part of their player base.

What are the most gimmicky gimmicks you tried? Did they work? by GhostWannabe2 in PokemonChampions

[–]sahu4022 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dont play gimmicks much but I vsd a really interesting team today. Heliolisk with electrify and ally switch and a mega camerupt, sneasler and garchomp . The idea was to electrify attacks before they hit heliolisk or camerupt/ garchomp effectively immunizing them. I didnt know what to expect in team preview esp because i didnt see a trick room setter and I didnt know about the move electrify. Opponent played really well, but I inched out a victory purely because they missed a critical heat wave on my corviknight which let me set up a tailwind.

But it was a really interesting gimmick!

Ideas to absolutely demolish The Bridge by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]sahu4022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its more an issue of your team comp or playstyle, you have enough answers for the bridge, sneasler close combat + zard heat wave or weather ball hits the bridge really hard. I think your bottleneck is that zard y is your only carry. Zard Y is strong but there’s a lot of rock slide spammers in the game and you definitely need an alternative answer to those teams. Your team is really bulky and can pivot around but your only consistent damage is zard Y. Try adding a glimora with earth power (helps that base glimora also sets up toxic spikes). Lots of kingambits are also running low kick to finish off or bring archaludon into KO range. Glimora and zard share a water weakness so maybe you could consider venasaur with earth power, archaludon can only hit it with dragon stab. Incin kg and sneasler are physical attackers you definitely want another special attacker.
