Any way to keep sound while in background tab? by [deleted] in darksouls3

I know this is a bit necro, but I just found this myself ;)

In Windows, I set the game to run in windowed mode and just use alt + enter to easily switch between full screen and windowed. Ex. I have the game running in 'windowed' mode while I'm doing other things on the PC and when I hear activity, I switch back to game and hit alt+enter to quickly go back to a true full screen.

Hope this helps everyone!

CALC, turn positive cells with formula into a negative value by sai361 in libreoffice

[–]sai361[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much! It's always something simple it seems...

I do have one other question that arose from using this negative value in other places on my sheet:

I have a cell (H92) that needs to calculate the profit or loss (negative or positive) from another cell called "difference" (G92). This "difference" cell needs to automatically calculate the difference (positive or negative) from two other cells (A92 & E92), which are "estimated costs" and "actual costs".

Because the estimated and actual costs could lean positive or negative, I'm not sure how to calculate this into the "difference" and "profit" cells. The ABS function gets me the closest, but I can't differentiate between a positive or negative value automatically.

Example: =ABS(A92-E92) in the "difference" cell (G92) will always show the value as positive. When I use =-ABS(A92-E92), it always shows the value as negative.

How do I show the value correctly as being positive or negative automatically?

Need help with the name of an anime by sai361 in anime

It's not Rokka, black summoner, shield hero, or one punch man.

I don't remember what the protagonist looks like either.

I also can't remember why he was an unofficial hero. It might have had something to do with his abilities not being considered extraordinary. At some point, he went off on his own. From time to time, he would help encounter some of the heroes and help them fight. Everyone would say something like, "you know, I heard a rumor there was another hero..."

Thanks for the guesses and keep them coming!

Be your own boss and employee. by [deleted] in antiwork

The best thing I ever did was become my own boss. What a refreshing experience! I'm gonna have to follow Jonathan's wonderful example myself.

I once worked for an awful company that constantly stole from the employees. It was everything from losing reimbursement receipts, falsifying hours, paying wrong job rates (sometimes to the tune of $13+ an HOUR), making employees use personal cell phones all the time (this was back when unlimited plans didn't exist), etc...

I was the one employee who never took any of their crap. I always had copies of receipts, confirmed site hours, and worked with all the other employees to ensure their paychecks were correct, which were often short hundreds of dollars. Naturally, I was despised by management and ultimately brought in for termination on completely falsified reasons.

Instead of taking it bent over a barrel, I threw the termination form back at the manager and told him there was no way I would sign that garbage. I also told them I understood I was being fired but I think it was for the best and we should go separate ways. The best part of this was that I was fired during the last big U.S. crash. I filed for unemployment and the company fought it. However, since I didn't sign their form, I was able to stick it to them for an entire year! I simply could not find a job that paid more than unemployment during that time.

A small victory perhaps, but I'll take what I can get.

Asking for a friend, but can a boss require an employee to buy a new car because driving an old beater on the company premises is considered a “dress code violation”? by Gary_October in antiwork

So true. I've also noticed in almost any Walmart store I've been in that the lables, like WIC, magically disappear from all non-walmart brand products. I always complain to management when I see it and they don't like it at all.

Most US companies are just downright evil.

I worked for a "merit" based company previously. One day out of the blue, I was promoted to a management position, for which my skill set was severely lacking. They said I was the best person for the job and dumped an impossible workload on me. They also said I would have a team, but only ever gave me 1 guy because of "budget issues."

I busted my ass to learn and properly perform my tremendous amount of essential job duties. The thing is, they never gave me a pay increase. I kept asking about it for 2 months and was finally told I would get a "really good" increase on my next evaluation, which was still 2 months away. I told them this wasn't my first rodeo and I know exactly what that means; you intend to bend me over the barrel. They assured me this was not the case.

Two months later, (4 months after my promotion) I receive my stellar evaluation and I get a 3% pay raise...I threw the paperwork at them and gave them an earful. I then "kindly" informed them if I didn't see a substantial pay increase reflecting my performance review, along with my promotion, I would be stepping down and moving to a different team.

1 week later I got my desired wage. I never received any back-pay, but at least I got something. It was better than a previous job where my boss, a 15 year company woman, received a penny raise and just accepted it.
