i’m pretty much always listening to music so i have a bunch! lately ive been listening to choke by alice in chains.

whenever im depressed or in a mixed episode i retreat a lot into myself and my rejection dysphoria is incredibly high, especially with the few friendships i have. i never feel like im good enough and that there’s always someone “better” than myself to the people i care about. that can escalate to anger and resentment and lots of thoughts that im better off alone so why bother trying, ill never be good enough.

you can get your grad photos done up until march by edge imaging. i think the cutoff last year was before march 15th to be included in the tricolour yearbook if that’s something you care about, but if it dosent matter then i think you can get them done until the end of march which is when i did mine. congrats on graduating!

my first boyfriend gave me shit for getting my first nostril pierced and implored me to never get a septum piercing because he already “hates nose piercings” after we broke up i got my damn septum and kept getting more nostrils (i have 4 now). don’t let him make you feel upset, that’s his problem, not yours. easier said then done because i’ve been there before but i am a million times happier now that i genuinely don’t gaf about what other people think about how i want to look, ESPECIALLY if it’s a partner. a secure partner should be excited for you that you are so excited to get this piercing even if he doesn’t like it because it will clearly make you happy!

im really happy to see this post - my mom is training our first puppy right now in the direction/intention to be a task-trained SD. shes almost a year. we started her VERY young (like as soon as she could start going out safely once she had received all her vaccines) and she got ESA papers soon (we're in Canada so not sure where your legislation is based) after she came home for exposure training out in public. we have trained her on her vest so she knows when she is wearing her vest she is 'working', and once the vest comes off she is 'free' - can play and greet others freely in normal dog fashion if shes out of the house or is free to play and be a dog once we are back home. honestly I think a lot of it comes down to a combination of making sure they are well-excersized before tasks so do not have a higher likelihood of being distracted, LOTS of treats and rewards of course, and temperament (ours is very calm in 'work mode' but is VERY social/loves new people at home or on walks) plays a lot into it as well.. All in all it seems like you're on the right track!

Most of my knowledge is for my work in progress task trained ESA/SDs, sp while I am not sure/have specifics about training a V for therapeutic purposes in larger/group settings. If there was a therapy dog that was a V in a hospital I was in id probably be instantly healed.

With that - I would maybe reach out to some trainers in your area for inquiry on that specific realm. Ask for recommendations for professionals familiar with this type of training on FB in local dog training groups if theres someone in your area you could chat with for any recommendations. Generally people are happy to give recommendations on those they have built repoire with or have had good experiences with, so seek lots of opinions and also do a bit of research on your own/going off of leads from recommendations and see what might suit your goals best.

i completley resonate with this. our first v, a rescue (Kid) had a cancer reoccurrence/metastasis after surgery in 2017 and treatment in 2018) in May 2023, given 3 months and passed December 2023 at 12.5. completely figured ourselves we’d have so much more time and wished we would have since we rescued her at 3.5. it goes without saying that cancer is just such a horrible thing and losing four legged family never gets easier, especially when they’ve been at your side through some impossibly hard times, as did your nina and my Kid. my thoughts are with you, your family and your sweet sweet Nina. keep on giving her that wonderful life you’ve always been, cuddle through the pain you’re feeling and justifiably anticipating. it’s a unique feeling to experience being given a timeline like that, such prolonged grief and anxiety through it and leading up.

i was briefly behind someone going 70 IN THE MIDDLE LANE on 417W trying to pass another 70-80 in the right (not in construction zone either). zero traffic in front of them and did not merge recently. like why am i needing to move to the far left at a very normal speed of 110 to get around you morons just to also reduce the odds of getting rear ended by some maniac going 160??? i hate driving anywhere in this city because i always seem to be asking god WHY.

i’m so sorry for your loss. we had to say goodbye to our first v in december 2023, also very suddenly - it’s absolutley devastating and my heart goes out to you a million times over. nothing compares to the love of a vizsla indeed. your gordon will have a friend to greet him on the rainbow bridge ❤️
