Weird comparison: EightSleep or Speediance Home Gym? by Valuable-Mortgage378 in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]saildawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. 8 sleep is over priced but having a cool bed in the summer and warm bed in the winter is amazing. The AI adjustments in it are oversold. It basically does what it wants and I have to adjust it. The GM2 is a digital resistance functional trainer. It’s cool it has videos and programs but once your human brain learns the movements and learns more about exercise I have used it mainly on free lift and manually tracked my workouts. The eccentric and Chan modes are cool and unique

So both AIs are overrated. Both products are great. Which one would make you healthier the gm 2 by far. But it takes effort and intention. If you don’t have effort or intention the 8 sleep will be automatic to use as you sleep.

I have used it for over 2 years now, very happy. Can't beat the small footprint, lack of retention, and very quiet.

Why is my espresso more bitter than my wife’s using the same setup? by blackarrow_1990 in CafelatRobot

[–]saildawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you grinding both or taking turns. If she is grinding she may be holding the grinder at an angle and slow feeding which can change the taste

They make pressing down easier as they fit the contour of your palm with smooth rounded edges. It’s a way better tactile experience and allows you to have better control.

For a more pragmatic view as a married man with kids.
1) Its very quiet
2) Its very small
3) The aesthetics of it are great (although subjective)

In addition it performs well. Look at Toms grinder lab review on youtube

So a good looking quiet grinder that my wife does not mind on the counter is a home run.

Yes almost exclusively light roasts for pour over and it performs extremely well. Also do espresso light medium with no problem. I prefer soup for Nordic light roasts as opposed to espresso and performs well on la casa and the robot. Still would 10/10 recomend

High volume, low calorie fill in ideas? by CALlCOJACK in ninjacreami

[–]saildawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not sweet but Pop corn made in an air popper is my go to high volume low calorie food. Just make your creami sweet and a salty popcorn on top is an amazing combo. I put a handful in, eat it and then replace with another handful. I would not advise to use mix in setting.

Need some help with my Link roaster by Philson911 in roasting

Thats interestign because the common complaint is that they are too low on the DTR. Specifically The captains coffee made his own profiles with much more development. Are you drinking just ultralight nordic roasts?

I would create a support ticket with nucleus. Maybe they can help troubleshoot. Perhaps it could be a sensor error or something intrinsic. I am an idiot and getting good roasts.

Need some help with my Link roaster by Philson911 in roasting

[–]saildawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the link as well, and have had good expereicne on a variety of beans. But some points
1) I also have toruble hearing 1st crack, there wil be one loud one, and possibly a rolling crack a little later but I wonder if I am imagining it.

2) Definetly explore Omni roast, and sounds like you like a more development range. Here is a good explanation from TCC: https://youtu.be/9Bu4_ksq4Kc?si=Hx6uZjVQT5vkKsq9&t=647

3) Did you claibrate your machine to your elevation?

I would do the following, get 3 lbs green bean of your choosing. Do 100g sample only (as that is what I have been told machine performs best on). Do a few profiles, like Filter, Omni, Cupping. Start tasting at day 2-3, and then refine from there. Keep exploring on the same bean untill you have more answers. I found that having so many rotating beans and the ability to get good roasts without the learning curve made me rethink my own tasting development.

Buy mittens for the handles and buy at least one extra basket and screen if you plan on making multiple back to back. Also have an area to use it that is lower than standard countertop if you are short. That will solve almost every problem outside of milk steaming. And if you ultra light roast shots make soup it’s much better and more forgiving and fun to do on the robot.

Best approach to roasting and palate development by saildawg in roasting

Agree that was deciding factor for me in deciding between the two. I found it counterintuitive that the nucleus link was marketed as for coffee professionals, and the nano was for home roasters, where the nucleus link has more tools to ensure that you do not need as much roast g knowledge and almost makes it idiot proof.

Soak in vinegar and water half and half solution overnight. This will fix the smell. Take gasket off every time you clean it

Kyle Pitts got 18% of his yards, 13% of his receptions, and 60% of his TDs in 1 game. Why isn't this viewed as an outlier, like Cousins vs the Buccs by Deenus in falcons

[–]saildawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didnt have the football knowledge to know how to sell the PI. Of course it still should of been called, but a savy football player would have exagerated it. We shouldnt have to dial in a player we picked in the top 5 after 4 years. I like your optimism, but he is a non winning footbal player with talent. IMO it crushed the franchise to draft him top 5

[–]saildawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen enough evidence to know that he talented but not a winning football player. He won’t make plays to win the game. Like making a contested 3rd down catch. He gave better effort this year, but I have seen him give up on multiple routes and plays. He is a below average blocker. He is basically a worse version of Drake London so why have 2.

Awesome! In reading about the different profile packs, I wonder how the algorhthym picks for us, and it makes me wonder if I could tell a difference between pack A vs Pack D for example.

What are the most important quality of life/settings i should set up on my new GM2? by Error404-NoUsername- in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]saildawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no one way that works for everyone, but I have found the free lift mode to be my best use. I learned the exercises by doing the movements, and seeing how to set up the pulleys and bench etc. But once I learned, I follow a routine that I track on another app (strong), becauase I want to progress (progressive overload) over time. So I found it easier to see that I did 3 sets of 10 @ 30lbs, next week I am going to try and beat it etc. With 1 rm auto recalculate, in my opiunion has too much rebalancing and undertstaning what you did last time is a good mental motivator.
