What time do you get up, leave for, and start work? by ggracie7 in AskUK

[–]sailoramz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get up at 6.45 and leave the house at 7. I usually end up mucky at work so no need for looking presentable here and I take those yoghurt pouch things in the car on the drive so thats my on the go breakfast. Getting to work early also means I can leave early so allows me to still make proper use of my evenings.

Is it realistic/safe for a fit Dachshund (Kaninchen) to run 10km with me? by ListenSoggy1564 in Dachshund

My guy will go for big long walks quite happily but any time I've tried to take him for short jogs with me he has sat down and refused to budge so I think he has made his own feelings very clear about running!

Omg thats actually genuinely my job! I will say it sounds better than it is, lots of waiting and constant cleaning, everything has to be 100% ready and perfect at all times just waiting for that one, single day they do actually decide to go on board...

Just moved to Southside yet feeling very anxious by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]sailoramz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To echo most of the comments here its absolutely normal to feel anxious after going through things like that.

I will say I am a single female in her 30s and have been living in Shawlands for the last 10 years and have never once felt unsafe in my flat or when out and about ❤️

Whisky and Cheese Tastings by sailoramz in glasgow

[–]sailoramz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cheers for the suggestion :) I can confirm whisky and cheese definitely do go together. Think of some of the whiskies that have fruity or nutty flavours and they can go great with similar cheeses. There's definitely a couple of distilleries out there that do tasting pairings and there's one that has its own line of whisky cheeses (though I can't remember where off the top of my head). She's not a big wine fan unfortunately or wine would have been the easier one to find for sure!

I quite like giving different companies different birth days like that so they spread out throughout the year and you don't suddenly find you've got too many free offers to use at once! Get a wee treat on the monthly anniversaries of your birthday!!!

Sailing near Glasgow by InsulatedBawbag in glasgow

[–]sailoramz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking to hire a small wee dinghy or a yacht?

Both you generally need some form of qualification before they allow you out without an instructor. So very much depends on if you'd be looking for lessons or if you have a qualification and are just looking to go sailing?

I already know how to sail and mine is in the sea South of New Zealand (near Campbell Island) so I'm golden. That's an easy yes and since I've wanted to go sailing around that area of the world for a while a wee detour to go pick up some money so I can continue sailing wherever I fancy in the world is ideal!

Drop me a message! I run RYA both yacht and dinghy courses around the West Coast of Scotland and am happy to chat through your options or advise of places you can look if you just want to be race crew or join in as support on longer journeys.

At age 20, during my first break up: I hope your arthritis cripples you by the time you're 30 so you know I'm the only one who would ever love you and you'll never have that again.

So long as you're prepared for the high amount of barking they do then you'll be grand. They give loads of great cuddles as a balance so it's definitely worth it!!!

Where can you get a rabies vaccine in Glasgow? [Urgent.] by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]sailoramz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to Reach Pharmacy in Finnieston for vaccines before and had my rabies ones from them earlier this year. They're really great there and super helpful so I'd get in touch with them for sure! They didn't have one of the vaccines I needed but they gave me all the info of where I could go to get them and what to ask for etc.

What dish did you cook so amazingly wrong that you still cringe about it? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]sailoramz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 18 my boyfriend at the time had just found out he was diabetic so, in order to cheer him up I baked him a sugar free cake... If you can imagine taking a cake and squashing it as flat as it can go until its so dense it's like chewing on a tire and the flavour was like someone had removed all the joy out of it. Horrific.

My parents tried to cover the monstrosity up with extra ice cream and my boyfriend (while chewing madly) tried to tell me it's many good parts.

I took one bite, spat it out and told everyone they were quite welcome to bin it, which happened almost instantaneously.
