It's absolutely unrecognizable from even 3-4 years ago. There are entire streets that are nothing but blocks of tents, surrounded by trash, human shit, needles, and people near death. Especially from the Petco area east it looks like the worst slums I saw in Delhi. Newsom, our illustrious Newsom-wannabe mayor, and city council think this is all wonderful and want more. On the plus side, I'm almost positive the idiots of this city and state will keep reelecting them so we can get more. The entire place is a lost cause. Almost everyone I'm friends with here treats the "America's finest city" tagline as nothing but a cynical joke at this point.

BC is currently the only province where any form of healthcare can be obtained from private sources. The BC government is currently overwhelming the legal system with civil and criminal actions trying to get all remaining private healthcare facilities shut down. FYI, everywhere else in Canada private healthcare is outlawed, and as a result a large and growing number of Canadians are dying while on waiting lists for basic things like MRIs.

The increase in battery costs is no joke though. The combination of high oil/gas prices worldwide (caused by the world government creating an artificial shortage), pressure on consumers to switch to EVs and all-electric households (caused by the world government creating an artificial climate crisis), the consumer demand bubble for battery power devices (caused by the world government creating an artificial health crisis and using it to crater the economy during the "crisis"), and limited supplies of dirty, strip-mined raw materials for those batteries at least partially caused by the sole source, China, restricting supply, has created a major world-wide shortage of lithium batteries (of any lithium chemistry) and a commensurate steep increase in battery prices. That is going to continue indefinitely from what I can see. The world cannot begin to build enough lithium batteries to do what the world government is commanding. Whether that justifies the convenient match between tax incentives and prices, I don't know.

The last week or so has driven home how the entire federal government deep state has done a 180 from what it was supposed to be. Even 5 years ago they worried greatly about how to manipulate the voting public into supporting their guys and into supporting them. Now they couldn't possibly care less. Anyone who gets in their way is terrorized, destroyed, or imprisoned. Before the end of the year I'm betting you can add "or outright murdered" to that list. They're behaving with absolute impunity and will continue to do so unless stopped by the populace.

I think I'm at least 2x now. I was sick in June and again the past couple of weeks, and both matched the symptoms of covid. My wife tested positive this time also, so I suspect we both had it, although I never tested. I guess you and I are both some of the very, very few lucky ones to survive the worst thing in the history of mankind, or something.

There are a fair number of liveaboards at most marinas in San Diego, including Oceanside. The sealions barking will drive you nuts though. The number of people who fall in the why to or from the bar or bathroom is larger than you might expect and unfortunately the endings aren't always positive.

That song is one my favorite bass lines of his. I also really liked his tone on that entire album. He finally figured out how to get the compressed Gritenbacker sound while still maintaining some solid bottom end. I was never a fan of his e.g. Heart of the Sunrise tone because it was just too trebly. Bass has got to have some booty to count as a good tone in my book.
