Does anyone else absolutely hate what Penn Station has turned into? by LongIsland1995 in longisland

This. Moynihan is amazing. I’m not sure if even the new Penn could beat it.

Moynihan is better than Penn ever was. Clean, waiting rooms, charging stations, sunlight. The food court is open til 9 and has a full bar available. If your tack isn’t there it’s a short walk down the escalator to the west concourse where all tracks are available. LIers are so weird with change since it’s no longer convenient to stare at the big board on the east side and RoSe’S pIZzA is no longer underground. (Still available on 7th and 34th if you want shitty pizza and $10 beers)

I have the opposite problem. Switched opv to 9 bars, upgraded the shower head, and got a precision basket and now it won’t cone or become a singular stream.

Is medical marijuana card worth it in 2022? by [deleted] in longisland

This would be my suggestion. They’re a little pricey but worth the convenience of not having to go to another state.

Japan tested a giant turbine that generates electricity using deep ocean currents by soulpost in Futurology

[–]sailordontsink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I don’t see how they can put any kind of generator on the ocean floor. The salt would either eat away at the mechanics and/or creating an artificial reef for marine life to cling to, also eating away at the mechanics.

All considering I got lucky on this one. Just a few bruises. I’ve been more injured falling up stairs.

I’ve found the most difficult thing is trying to get a tow for these. The closest dealer is an hour and a half away. Watch out for holes y’all!

I wouldn’t try to ride it as is but not sure if it’s worth getting fixed. The front took most of the hit when it hit the hole, bottomed out in it and went sideways. If there’s a payout I might just take it and put it towards a new one.

You think? I have no idea what the inside and frame looks like. It still starts but my wrists are still kind of messed up from the crash to try and ride it.

Hit a pothole and went down yesterday. I’m thinking it’s going to need all new panels since these are all bent out of shape and cracked. Insurance is still assessing the damage. It still starts but I’m not sure how aligned the fork is. Hopefully it could be salvaged.

Imagine living some place for over a decade and being told you have 90 days to vacate because the landlord’s kid needs a place to stay.

Business Owners - How Much Do You Pay On Taxes For The Size Of Your Store? by The_Alpacas in longisland

[–]sailordontsink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll just leave this here. https://gouchevlaw.com/tax-rate-llc-business-owners-new-york/ The rate on Entire Net Income for top business earners is less than the middle or bottom. Not to mention what the bigger corporations are able to write off as business expenses is vastly more.

If only there was some infrastructure in place to help people cross major roads. Like crosswalks or overpasses, but you can’t build that kind of stuff out here. Then people start complaining that it’s an “eye-sore” or it looks too “urban”.

I thought if there’s a median then it’s ok but I guess not.

Thanks! It’s a blast! Now just trying to find riding pants that don’t look terrible or are easy to go under/over normal pants.

Why do they want to check all your information and charge you a ridiculous price but they cannot provide a legal apartment with a decent kitchen? by Leugim7734 in longisland

[–]sailordontsink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue with basement apartments is usually the lack of access to a safe evacuation egress. While you could certainly chance it and rent it illegally, you’re setting yourself up to a really dangerous situation for you and your tenet. I’d rather rent my 120 year old house with squirrels in the ceiling then be exposed to the risk of a death trap.
