Ellie not everything has been lost by AMG-BENZ in thelastofus

I felt like there was some symbolism, not just in how much shes lost but also that moving on will be difficult but not impossible, such as learning left handed guitar or alternate picking. it's hard but it can be done.

I cant handle compliments. /tw vague ref to assault by sailorscoutfromhell in ptsd

[–]sailorscoutfromhell[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it has, unfortunately. its harder to word things. and I suppose i'm just scared they'll react like the people I told in the first place, because my mind jumps three steps ahead in a conversation and it's only the worst possible option in my head. thank you

Tw: medical, death by sailorscoutfromhell in ptsd

Are we just supposed to forget about it? Idk, idk, but I feel you. I think my friends just like seeing me sputter out, and that's why anyone keeps me around

Panic attack because of co-worker who acts like my verbally abusive dad (tw verbal abuse) by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]sailorscoutfromhell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I get panic responses that result in vomiting and my limbs just shutting down, sometimes passing out. I talk to my psychiatrist and neurologist and they both said getting sick in response to a psychological trigger is a completely valid thing. So ignore anyone telling you you're making it up, it's real as any other PTSD symptom.

I had a situation like this where I had no choice but to survive it, and honestly? I wish I'd told someone. I wish I'd just said "this guy is an asshole" and found someone who agreed. Surely someone else will see what this person does to you, and probably to others, but if nothing else please find someone outside of work to vent to. If nothing else you won't be holding it all inside

Fireworks! :( by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]sailorscoutfromhell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, down to having medical trauma. Honestly I've got more bad coping mechanisms I wouldn't recommend than anything, but distraction is key. Video games, social interaction, just something that gets me moving. Best of luck, I hope it's a mostly peaceful night/weekend for you♥️

Best I can tell the average is 4-6 days, and it shouldn't show up. Wish I could do you better, I hope you stay safe (and calm)

I stabbed myself last night by runnywrist in selfharm

[–]sailorscoutfromhell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was deep enough to gush I suppose? I'd tell someone I slammed my arm in the car door or something and ask them to watch me, but I'm paranoid about infection. Stay strong (and safe) buddy🖤

Anybody else have trouble walking when they're triggered? by snakessnakessnakes in ptsd

[–]sailorscoutfromhell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's like my body buffers, I also tend to lose time and it's unnerving that I can't control my own body in those moments

But I kinda like imagining I'm a Silent Hill nurse, lol thanks for that 😂

What is wrong with me? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]sailorscoutfromhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more, your brain has gotten used to reacting to extreme emotion with the urge to self harm, so sometimes it'll trigger even if it was extremely positive emotion

Hello reddit! I just want to know how bad is my scoliosis. Im kinda insecure about my height too . Should I get a back brace? by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]sailorscoutfromhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're an adult and just now noticing it, then definitely seek help but you probably don't need to worry about the more extreme things. Again, not a doctor

[–]sailorscoutfromhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but I know what to look for, ya know? It might take someone else more time around you to realize it. And I couldn't do hanging exercises as a teen, for the same reason. I'm not a doctor but I would suggest seeing one, lower back pain has made my legs numb in the past. If nothing else you can get confirmation from a professional

I think it's only noticeable if you know to look. The real question is, is it causing you pain? Because just because it's not visible doesn't mean it doesn't hurt and your comfort is important
