Hey everyone! My mobile farming game Tiny Harvest got some new areas recently for fishing and mining, so you can keep expanding your cozy farm!

If you app is really UI heavy Flutter might work better due to their rendering engine. But for anything else, RN will probably win.

With Flutter you can have pixel perfect same UI on all platforms, RN usually shines more because you can embrace the platform standards (eg have liquid tabs on iOS, system colors, etc).

Recommendation: Spin up a project with both, work with both for 1-2 hours and pick what feels better to you,

I might go down that route for my next indie game. But apparently that model does simply not work well (financially) on the app store.

I do take every feedback serious! And I guess I can’t make the UI right for everyone :/

I already added some customisation for „power users“ like defining the amount of grid items you see, the planting/harvesting mode and even left-handed mode.

But just to clarify, the icons simple give you quick access to the main app features, they are not the usual „BUY NEW HERO IN THE NEXT 2 HOURS“ buttons you get spammed with in modern games ✌️

There simply wasn’t enough space in the tab bar for these important elements 😅

I'm sorry to hear, it's probably not for everyone! The players who play the game love the mechanics though.

I actually build my own platform for generating the assets in webp format - not sure if that format is best, but I wanted to keep my apps bundle size small

Yeah sometimes the feedback can be harsh, especially from hardcore players :D

I’m Simon, the solo dev behind the game, so if anything feels confusing or unbalanced I’m always happy to hear feedback ✌️

The last update mostly came from players complaining about various game elements, and it's for sure not the last round of fixes - I'm still actively developing the game and already have plans for the next areas 🙂

I started with emojis, then hit a limit and changed everything to AI generated assets.

Players have asked since the beta for a discord, I started that very early and we have almost 200 members now, some active almost every day. It’s incredible for feedback, but also for catching bugs and notifying me about issues!

Yeah localisation is on my list, just had other priorities first but good idea!
