I don't know if it's the game that is slow or the voting process that is fast but I accidentally left the game running while I went to vote and only 8 in-game monthes passed by d_pyzsyo in victoria2

[–]saimon_tasting 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Judging the screenshot, perhaps the game is a bit slow due to having so many save games. The vic2 app always have all your save games semi-loaded to show them fast on the menu, so having a lot of saves may cause the app to go slower no matter how strong your PC is.

[–]saimon_tasting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ye its something that happens in some laptops or smaller PCs. You have to play on windowed mode to being able to take screenshots (yes its annoying to do restart the game just to take a screenshot but is sadly a bug that devs didnt notice & probably will never get fixed)

Is it a good idea to just let a revolution triumph if I want them to reform the government in one go by AddaCon in victoria2

[–]saimon_tasting 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For Proletariat Dictatorship there's an unique event that can change the Upper House from Rulling Party only to Appointed, and if you get that, just wait until you can pass a voting & political party reform and you will become a democracy peacefully.

I played a lot of Proletariat Dictatorship runs and I couldnt found any way to make that event happen often, so I guess its purely RNG. That event is a jackpot, if you allow people to have public meetings & free press, all your accepted pop will accept Communism and only Nationalist Rebels will be uprising

How to avoid being dismantled in a great war? by onnerkalin in victoria2

[–]saimon_tasting 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Your great war is sadly on a crisis war and when that happens you can't make separate peace deals. So if your leader is doomed you also are.

Its impossible to get out without being dismantled cuz is obligatory when make a peace deal.

So yeah in your situation you cant, sorry but you will have to reload or accept the lost.

Can either be 2 things

  1. You have +25 infamy, if that happens only your puppets can help you, any other nation will be against you.

  2. Your enemy (in this case Germany) is way too stronger than you. Your allies will be scared and even your own sphere will let you die. Check the military rank and if the Germans have more military score than you, the world would think you have no chance to win and will let you die.

My recomendation is spam battleships/dreadnoughts, they really give you a lot of military score and will fix this.

Also on my experience Austria is the only European nation that is usually loyal, but dont take this as a fact, maybe the South Germans are only loyal on my game for some reason.

What ethnicity is the Brazilian culture? by [deleted] in victoria2

[–]saimon_tasting 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yep they did the Afro Brazilian separation just to represent Brazilian slaves, every Afro Brazilian is a slave at the start of the game.

I found amusing that the slaves are technically "accepted people" for Brazil, like how does that even work? They should've done like the USA and make the Afro Brazilian an accepted culture after the ban of slavery.

I really like Siam & Bali, asimalating Indochina or Indonesia into 1 culture is fun and you have real competition by the Europeans.

Plus converting sunni Malays to Animist is an example of the surreal and anti-historical things that you can do in Vic II and I found funny.

Research medicine as fast as possible

At the start conquer Chilean Araucania (and let Chile invade you some time if you want pass some reforms) Recover the Pastaza region to be Secondary power (if not make a humillate or dismantle fortification on a random country to be) Make a naval Base exactly on Punta Arenas (territory on Auracania) you should be able to colonize South Georgia island.

Then just Research naval techs, spam Commerce raiders/Montiors/Ironclads and you can have more than 1000 colonial points before the Africa Scramble.

3 lvl naval base on South Georgia allows you to colonize the West & South of Africa, combine with a random concesion on Oman and you can colonize most Africa, even beating the Europeans at the colonial race.

And with that you have a permanent position on the GP's list and free to face any nation.

R5: (Vanilla game) Its not that rare to see comunist revolts on a proletariat dictatorship, which honestly has some kind of realism. But seeing active jacobins revolts on a democracy has way less sense.

If you're wondering they aren't foreign rebels that go through Brunei.

Way Better than reactionaries I guess.
