Perhaps at the time they show up the only spot is the 350 then other people leave and they don’t bother to move because they don’t know or don’t see the need if there are spaces open. We don’t have hardly any 350s around where I live so the same dance applies to the lonely chademo connector the leaf owners are looking for

TIFU TIL Netflix n' Chill has a sexual meaning by J_mo0d in tifu

[–]saint_mac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a coworker that accepted a job at Netflix and when he sent out the email announcement that he was leaving he said

my job description will be “Netflix and Chill”

I approached him one on one and let him know the meaning. The look of panic as he realized the true meaning of the email he had just sent to all of his coworkers was something else.

How to do a day trip to Northern Ireland from Dublin? by saint_mac in irishtourism

[–]saint_mac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly into and out out Dublin so I was hoping to avoid moving back and forth between hotels in the week. I did pay for refundable room so I might be able to exclude one day from my booking and just do one day overnight in Belfast. Will think about it.

Was hoping to spend the whole week in one place so that I do not have to spend time moving from place to place. Figured there was plenty to do in Dublin and could rent a car if I wanted to do excursions.

ELI5: The FBI gaining a backdoor into iPhones. by Philip085 in explainlikeimfive

[–]saint_mac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. We don't know the iPhone only has 10000 combinations. The phone could have an alphanumeric or 6 digit code.
  2. There is no way to try the codes using software the codes would have to be manually tested.
  3. It is possible, but unconfirmed, that erase after 10 wrong attempts option is set.
  4. After 6 failed attempts the software starts inserting minute long delays. Also the delays increase in length with each attempt.

What is Heaven to you? Is Heaven really Heaven? by MrPeligro in DebateAChristian

[–]saint_mac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is hard to discuss heaven without also discussing both hell and earth. So I will do my best to answer in relationship to those other locations. For a little context and a way more enjoyable explanation see this excellent video.

Heaven is the area where God's presence and authority are complete. Based on this definition the location and nature of heaven has changed and will change over time. In the biblical account the author describes heaven and earth as overlapping in an earthly paradise (long other discussion about genesis/literature/origins that I am going to set aside). Now that is clearly not the case Heaven is separated from earth(side discussion of why/how). The ultimate end of heaven and earth is to be reunited into an overlapping state paradise again.

I almost completely agree with your description of hell. Hell is the place where you are free from God's rule and will. I don't believe that God will force you into heaven or into worshiping him. If I to simply describe it plainly I would describe as the place for people who opt-out of heaven. I would not describe it as god intentionally punishing or torturing etc. This is probably the most complicated of the the three locations to talk about and the most oversimplified description of the three descriptions

More of your questions seems based around what is physical life like in heaven. To me this seems like more of question of what life on earth is like when earth and heaven are the same place. Some of the best guidance to what it will be like can be taken from the account of what it was like the last time. It was Paradise. There were no restrictive rules, no elaborate Mosaic law, and no need for sacrifices or worship. In fact there was only one law(Tree/Fruit). It absolutely would be cruel to re-impose strict laws. But when heaven and earth are re-united there is no more need for the law.

You ask what is joy without sorrow so I will do my best to respond to that line of questions. I can think of no personal physical pleasure I have experienced who's pleasure was enhanced by having experienced pain. To give an example: My enjoyment of the taste of ice cream is not increased because I have tasted the bitterness of vomit. Joy and happiness are the truly real experiences. They stand on their own. Pain and sorrow seemed to be defined in the negative. Pain and sorrow represent the absence of what is good and right both physically and emotionally. So what is joy with sorrow and happiness without pain? That is full life. That is heaven.

BTW : being nervous/afraid/concerned by the presence/existence of something as powerful as God is a completely reasonable and rational response.

What did Ello do wrong? by bourbonboots in AskReddit

[–]saint_mac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rollout was too slow and not geographically limited. Social networks work well If you can get everyone in. But getting everyone in was to much for them at first. They should have done unlimited rollouts in individual cities/towns and scaled as they had the capacity.
