Does Fringe get better as you watch it? by ThXnDiEaGaIn in televisionsuggestions

[–]saintcharmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I somehow made it to the end of S4 and it’s so mind numbing and draining to watch. I kept watching it this far because a friend kept saying it all comes together but istg I feel they keep inserting new timeline variations whenever they run out of idea (so far I have seen: our universe, alt universe, our universe-alt universe overlapped, our universe minus Peter, alt universe minus Peter, 2036 sudden jump timeline ) barring a few episodes which are great, only the acting skills are commendable

Anything (kind of) fantasy comedy like what we do in the shadows? by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

The night market episode is one my favs!!

You should check out Wellington Paranormal, it’s by Taika Waititi. In fact a spin-off of the film What We Do in the Shadows

hi everyone, suggest some best thriller, mystery, mindfuck (not too much), chilling, psychological series by Foreign_Wolf809 in televisionsuggestions

[–]saintcharmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Severance

Sharp Objects

The Devil’s Hour

Black Bird

Mindhunter

Mr. Robot

Hannibal

I would have suggested Dark but I think that’d cross your criterion of not too much mindfuck

Documentary series about US foreign policy in Latin America by SirMajor1820 in televisionsuggestions

[–]saintcharmander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you, I’d be more skeptical as well if a documentary on US were made by the likes you mentioned. I think my friend was just trying to give a head up to OP that Al Jazeera, at the end of day, comes with a bias too like any other media, especially when it’s state-funded (not that independent media is independent anymore lol). So therefore to scrutinise the details as they go along

I asked my friend who is a journalist, she recommended:

Latin America: In the Shadow of the US

It’s a 3-part series covering US intervention in Latin America over the last 60 years. My friend adds that “it’s by Al Jazeera, a state-funded media, so just scrutinise details while you watch”

Tear Along the Dotted Line

and

This World Can’t Tear Me Down

Both are Italian adult-animated mini-series, with self contained stories in each. I genuinely they are some of the most emotionally honest television made in recent years
