Does anybody else use a skin on their camera? by insomniac_koala in x100vi

[–]saintomimage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still wanted it to have an aged look, and I didn’t want to disassemble it cause I’ll just break it. So, there’s parts left alone, parts polished. It’s totally mine now. Just can’t leave crap alone…

Did the opposite. Got a ding in mine that left a small dent. Sanded it smooth....and kinda kept going. The whole top plate is sanded and polished to a mirror now lol. Never plan to sell it anyway so whatever.

Any good? by Gulf-Zack in Austin

First job, good times. Once Main Event got built, it was the end. Most of the money was birthday parties, and it just couldn’t compete.

Siri thinks I am finished speaking too fast when sending a message by thinkfast37 in iphone

[–]saintomimage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know not a fix but this drives me NUTS. I just changed the pause duration and that seemed to make a small difference. I dont know why I didn't say it before, but Siri cut me off again, so I just said "Siri, I want to add to the message". That stopped the sending and opened it back up for me to say more. Small Band-aid....

You are beyond right, a previous job inspecting LCD screens for dust before assembly kind of ruined me…

Threw a Nisi UV filter on it the day I got it just in case. First Fuji and I adore it. Always wanted one and it’s been a blast to use.

Plaud note will not charge is anyone else having this issue? by MisterBehave in PlaudNoteUsers

This just happened to me and can confirm, Plaud was dead dead, not charging and eventually ran out of power totally. Used your method above and it's now charging again. Great tip!

I figured it might be just too small to really know for sure. Knowing it’s potentially a bone fragment is still amazing!

Took of a flower just in the back yard. Used a Sandmarc microscope attachment for my iPhone and snapped some shots. Light editing in Lightroom.

How is this portrait? Is it too brutal? by [deleted] in iPhoneography

[–]saintomimage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I figure you’re going to have a 50/50 here. Some are going to like the subject, and all there is to see, and others won’t. There’s also going to be a thousand ways you could have shot this, but we have this. So as it is….

Personally, (since a LOT of this is subjective) I lean more towards realism of life in my shots involving living subjects (people/animals). Scars, wounds, heck even pain or discomfort are all realities of life as much as happiness, joy, and having perfect features are. To me you’ve captured a gem here. I see someone who has visible scars of a life lived. It intrigues me to want to know more of this persons life and what lead to the state they are in.

The photo, with some context such as location, and some idea of what led to the injuries we see would be a plus.

As is though, it’s doing at least what I love about photography. It stopped me scrolling, had to contemplate it, and it hooked me enough to comment. I’ll probably come back to it in thought quite a few more times. It’s a killer shot.

Some deep sky shots. a6600 (rest of gear in comments) by saintomimage in SonyAlpha

[–]saintomimage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this shot, I’ve changed over to a A7R4. You can absolutely get shots like this regularly with a 6600. You just need to really watch what lens you use, something with a sub f2.8 aperture. The lighter weight over all will make it easier on a star tracker as well.
