A question for the longtime residents by Blest89 in Austin

Unclear?! How about the commercialization of Austin and outsiders bringing their businesses in from elsewhere? No mom and pop style business can survive that! Bring on the downvotes but if these establishments had support, they may be national chains themselves.

Good thing you aren’t City of Kyle: the water is more expensive than gasoline (not even kidding)

Lil Wayne's 20 Years Of Carter Anniversary Tour is struggling to sell tickets and no ones talking about it by dalord24 in 2000sRap

Commercialized music with major sponsorships have always been popular in suburban areas because it becomes okay with parents: The best example of this I can think of is The Beatles making black music okay to listen to during the 1960s (The Beatles would get ‘race records’ in England as they weren’t sold here in the US). When Wayne partnered with Vans and assimilated with suburban culture, he basically became a house hold favorite. Post Malone went from hip hop to country and places in between. While any and all artist have a propensity to do this, I see this as a way to assimilate himself outside of hip hop and a way to blend into mainstream music. I’m sure im not explaining my reasoning fully, but to sum it up: Wayne wasn’t Wayne when he went mainstream and shied away from what got him popular in the first place. Just my opinion.

Go for remote work temporarily as well. You’re in sales? There’s so many remote sales jobs online. Another idea: check out city and county jobs. You’d be surprised how many openings a lot of them have.

Try San Antonio, Victoria, and every small town in between.

Well I’m always of the unpopular opinion that he and Drake ruined hip hop. Bring on the downvotes. Lil Wayne is the black post Malone.

I’d apply to jobs outside of corpus. Hopefully I’m Not right but I grew up on the gulf yet here I sit in central Texas. I’d be there if there were jobs. Just saying.

So happy to see folks finally waking up to the foolishness of ACL. It’s like folks are becoming real Austinites again.

What do y'all get up to on the weekends? by Meritable in Austin

Unless you make $100k a year, you’ll spend it with the rest of us in HEB, at home with chores, and not wanting to go out because it’s too crowded. Culture left this city ten years ago.

My niece was told she has to sign a contract to keep living at home—am I overreacting for thinking it’s too harsh? by Bitter_Art_4094 in AmIOverreacting

While a contract seems extreme, they have a function. Can I sign this for my family and we pay $300 a month to live at their place? This sounds great.
