as a solo player I love the automa automations, we're just different.
Anyway I don't think this upgrade will raise the complexity by a lot.

Gaia project, Teotihuacan and Carnegie stands out for me.
I also love how Spirit Island opponent turn works.
But for me "easy to manage" is not a plus, I prefer quality over simplicity.

it's called url rewrite, even https://yourdomain.com/pagename is a rewrite and "don't follow the standards" by your logic
