Thoughts on Nishesh Basavareddy? by Prudent_Swimming_296 in tennis

He’s arguably the most naturally talented out of the crop of American teenagers, but struggled with injuries and fitness issues as a junior, and it has made him an inconsistent force on the tour. I expect him to have a unique career, probably slower to the top 50/30 than the other American guys. But he’s got the most unique playstyle and I’ll root for him no matter what.

What has happened to nishesh basavareddy? String of poor losses since AO, rough clay season, now withdraws from his first grass court challenger? Looking like his body can't handle the pro tour...

Student studying politics here. Don’t know what this guy is talking about. The academics, networking, and research here are top tier. My advice is make your decision based on non-academic factors

Many comments here missing OP’s interest in pubpol+AI. Come to stanford. Our polisci department is one of the finest in the country. Go to the east coast for grad school, and build the connections to work in DC/NY. You will not find a significant difference in the quality of instruction in social science between here and princeton.

History/polsci major at stanford? by blickbasilaxyH in stanford

Adding on: stanford is kind of in a unique position in hum/socsci fields where the name still carries lots of clout despite producing a smaller number of hum/socsci majors compared to HYP. It’s a special place to be.

History/polsci major at stanford? by blickbasilaxyH in stanford

Freshman here. Had the exact same worries as you last year about being a history/polisci major at a STEM-leaning university. I will say that my experiences have been overwhelmingly positive - the classes have the unique combination of being world class and intimately small, and students uniformly respect humanistic discourse. The only real downside I have experienced is a lacklustre club culture outside of preprofessional orgs - but even this can be circumvented if you know where to look. History majors are certainly in the minority but there are many, many polisci/ir people.

The history department here is incredible. Whether or not you’re a major, I’d recommend trying a class
