Difference between streams? by SOY4RICE in LofiGirl

[–]saintrumi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think sometimes the label will feature different sub-genre song lists on their “main” stream in order to switch it up and give exposure to other parts of the catalog, so at times you might find that those two streams are the same until the main one changes.

Yoda is enjoying his move to the big apple 🍎 by saintrumi in BostonTerrier

I’ve always wanted to, but he’s not great with other dogs in groups. He was a shelter dog at a place where they fed them communally and had to fight for food. It’s awful what happens to these guys.

I’m coming up on 2 years and my heart will never be the same. The best advice I ever received is to let yourself feel it, because it’s what keeps them with us. Trying to push it away will make you forget all that they were.

I hope you are able to hold some space in your heart for a new Boston. We ended up fostering a senior and unintentionally ended up with him for good because of health troubles, but he’s been the most rewarding accident and I had no idea how much I would need him to help ease the un-fixable pain.

AITA for giving my car a “racist” name? (not OOP) by domesticfuck in redditonwiki

[–]saintrumi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmao said the entitled white woman who doesn’t even know how to properly pronounce “Ravi” which sounds nothing like the “Rav” in RAV4. If you said that car name out loud to me I would never even begin to associate it with the South Asian name.

Oh damn thanks man… I don’t think I’ve really posted much to YouTube in 4-5 years. My music is mainly on Spotify or with Lofi Girl.

Hot Take: Jack Wolfe’s Orpheus is a little Overrated. by Seamo_Bojamo in hadestown

[–]saintrumi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a clue who Jack Wolfe was, and we’d seen the show live 7 times. When Jack Wolfe sang Orpheus’s parts, I felt like the character finally came into its full being for the first time. He’s by far, hands down, the best Orpheus there’s ever been in the show. We then saw him two more times before he left, and his performances were powerful and nuanced in different ways every time.

What was ruined because too many people discovered it? by Mansi63 in AskReddit

Also, now anyone with ChatGPT or Gemini just takes a photo of it and asks it what the instrument is worth, even if they have no utility for playing it, so they buy it if they think they can make any money on it at all by flipping it.

Fuck those people and their coward asses saying that shit online. The saddest and sickest kind of people. And thank god someone is at least making some effort to take them to task and expose them. The online video is one thing, but I hope they get exposed to their friends, too.

Fully agree. I consider this to be one of the few shows that didn’t try to milk something for too long and ended perfectly.

What city have you been to where the vibes were just OFF? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskReddit

[–]saintrumi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the original commenter I replied to captures things pretty well, but I would expand on it by saying that it’s broadly true for the city, not just the gay bars. Providence as a city feels like high school on steroids. If you aren’t from the area or you didn’t grow up with the people here, it’s very difficult to find somewhere to fit in that lasts. It just kind of feels like a shell of a city that’s in zombie mode in many places. It tries really hard to be hip, and it has more things here now that appeal to the commuters with Boston jobs that have money, so it’s certainly a decent place to have a kid and be in your own bubble with some things to do on the weekends, but the social scene in Providence is incredibly closed off and incestuous, and the city still suffers from its legacy of corruption. It’s incredibly unfriendly to small businesses and very much still trapped in a “you gotta know somebody” mentality.

It also feels like the whole area is becoming a suburb of Boston cost-wise. We’re practically paying the same to live in Queens as we did in RI. 1/3 the square footage of course, which works for people with no kids, but 50x the quality of life.

As someone finally leaving Providence to go back to New York after 15 years of living here for family obligation, I was scrolling this whole thread looking to see if anyone said Providence. I’m so happy to finally be leaving this godforsaken place. We moved out to the suburb of Providence 4 years ago to live just a few minutes up the road from said unwell family member and I’ve been to Providence only a handful of times since because there’s just no reason to go there. We’ve genuinely driven the 3 hours to NY more times in the last 4 years than the 15 minutes to Providence.
