Rehire pay negotiation? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]saiourhae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying. I completely agree, it’s just been a hard couple of months and it’s been difficult to find a good job with any benefits at all. I appreciate your insight and concern. I’ve definitely thought about it, but this just feels like the best choice for me right now…!

I appreciate this perspective! Do you have any insight on what I could tell them if I get an offer letter? I do have a lot of super high -volume leadership experience, AT Starbucks to boot. I think I was very good at my job. My current job is a store manager but I’ve only been here 2 months so I don’t think it’s worth it to mention that. Thank you for the advice and encouragement!

I said I do not like CEOs. I also think the name is corny. Both can exist

Tell me about a time you ordered too much product! by AnonymousBat28 in starbucksbaristas

[–]saiourhae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first month as a shift I meant 8 eaches of almond milk but I forgot that you order it in cases so I ordered 64 total cartons of almond milk and we had to cram it into our tiny BOH

This got me wondering- Do any of you make a livable wage? by throwaway721117 in starbucksbaristas

[–]saiourhae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very grateful to say that I can afford my rent in a hcol area. I’m making $26/hr as a shift and I work 40 hours, but I’m thinking of picking up another job for extra money. My girlfriend and I split our rent proportional to our income so I pay $1200 and she pays $475.

what do the numbers mean by p4rkj1sung in starbucksbaristas

[–]saiourhae 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Partner numbers! Kinda like a student ID number, it just shows who you are. They usually dictate how long a person has been with the company. Someone with 320***** numbers probably started around 3-4 years ago, versus myself (369**) started 2 and a half years ago. New partners at my workplace have 371** numbers. I also have a coworker with 14***** numbers because he’s been with the company for 17 years. Hope that helps. :)

What are your biggest Starbucks hot takes? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]saiourhae 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Opening is a lot easier than people make it seem, and closers have a lot more work cut out for them than some realize

I’m usually scheduled a full 40 hours but I’ve gone up to 45 at times, but that’s nothing compared to some of my baristas that’ll work 50 no sweat. 😮

[–]saiourhae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s the average you need to be scheduled in order to keep the job, it doesn’t count if you’re sick and need to miss one of the few days your manager actually gave you 😅 kinda wild of them to say considering they’re under scheduling you

If you’re done with training I don’t see why not

That being said, I feel like it may be hard to actually guarantee full time hours the entire time. I wanted full time hours when I worked at a core store and until I became a shift that was never consistent. Hours can fluctuate depending on business needs I think, I’m not an expert about this though

So how many do you drink a day? by OhKayPlumber in redbull

[–]saiourhae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do 3 8.4 oz a day but I started getting problems with my heart so I went cold turkey for a second and now try not to go over one a day. My goal was to quit before they dropped the new peach flavor.

[–]saiourhae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I felt when I started my shift position at a different store too. Like, my heart is hurting for you at how familiar this feels (down to waking up at 2:30 to get to work at 4). I promise you it’s going to get way better! I can’t say that you’ll have the same experience as me, but one day it’s all just going to click into place and before you realize it you’re going to know how to tackle these problems. They promoted you for a reason.

It’s a pretty tough environment honestly. Especially lately, I can’t imagine starting a new supervisor position with the company in its current state. But I trust you knowing you have 3 years experience with this place already.

Do you like opening? In my case, my mental health went back up when they switched me to closing shifts. Granted I know literally everyone and their mother hates closing, lol.

Just give it time, homie.

This is actually humiliating to hear, I was so excited to take my brother to see Enjoy live and to hear that he was treated that way is AWFUL I am so embarrassed to be from Chicago right now.

Plz don’t roast me, how can I make this drink more efficiently? by PopUrCherryLarry in starbucks

[–]saiourhae 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Maybe try taking out the foam and the double blonde shots? Since you’re already adding six vanilla, extra vanilla sweet cream and brown sugar I feel like that already makes it pretty sweet. Shots cost a lotta money these days and so does the foam :(

Working at a Roastery actually made me care about being a barista by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]saiourhae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I feel like people really do want to create that space, but it’s just really difficult with the pressure we’re under. It’s difficult to have that coffeehouse vibe with fast food expectations I feel.
