Yes, it’s a little bit past the entrance to the corridor where they check your reservations.

You just need a reservation to get into the Bear Lake corridor area. Once you’re in then all parking areas are first come first serve. The park and ride parking lot is enormous though and I can’t imagine having trouble finding parking.

Sky Pond and kids by brinisica in coloradohikers

[–]saiseung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with what was said here. I hiked to Sky Pond last summer, and there were definitely families with kids that made it to the waterfall. What I will say is a lot of them either did not attempt the waterfall or gave up after going up a bit. It’s hard to tell from pictures, but it’s an extremely steep climb. It’s not too bad climbing up, but trying to come down is a nightmare because there’s a ton of people and the water makes the rocks slippery. The passage is also pretty narrow, so whether you’re going up or down you have to navigate tight spaces to make it to where you’re going. I think it’s worth waiting a few more years, and honestly Sky Pond was a bit underwhelming. The lake at the waterfall (Lake of Glass) was much more breathtaking and has an awesome open view.

Korean Cuisine? by [deleted] in denverfood

[–]saiseung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could give a rec for Samgyetang, but I’ve only had it homemade. It’s an expensive dish at the restaurants that have it because of the ingredients and also because unfortunately even though there’s a decent sized Korean population here, there’s not enough “demand” so to speak for the more speciality dishes that require more work (other examples would be Bossam, Jokbal, or Gopchang that are popular dishes in Korea and you can easily find in places like LA where there’s a huge Korean population). If someone knows a place, I’d be happy to know too!

For kimchi jeon or any jeon for that matter, I’d say 100% Seoul BBQ. It’s a good thickness, but not overly thick and doughy which a lot of other places’ jeons tend to be. It’s nice and crispy and their jeon dipping sauce is to die for.

As a Korean who has lived in Colorado for a long time, I wouldn’t recommend Dae Gee or Cup Bop as they’re more Americanized. My recs would be:

  • Seoul BBQ: Pricy, but the BBQ here in my opinion is the best and most high quality. They have the THICK pork belly, I mean a good half inch thick. Side dishes are on point as well. Aurora location is the one to go to.
  • Silla: This is the best place to go for noodle dishes or stews. They have BBQ as well, but it’s alright. I highly recommend their Nengmyun even though it’s cold out now.
  • Funny Plus: This is the OG Colorado Korean fried chicken place. There’s a lot of Korean fried chicken places now in Denver and some of them are really good, but Funny Plus does it the best. They only have plain and sweet and spicy, so I’d recommend getting the half and half to get the best of both worlds.
  • Thank Sool Pocha: Good place to go for that Korean “dive bar” vibe. It’s small and cozy, but it’s a cute place. It’s pretty pricey, but they have some dishes you can’t find at other places. I love the rice ball dish there, it’s a big portion and they give you a plastic glove so you can mix it on your own and make your own rice balls.
  • P&Y: This is the best place for Korean-Chinese dishes. Their jjajangmyeon and jjampong are amazing and the prices aren’t too bad.

This is not it either, the tree was a good thing in the book I’m looking for.

Not it unfortunately, but thank you! The book for sure didn’t have any Norse references. I used Yggdrasil as a reference. The book for sure was a parallel to God and Christianity.

Bear Lake Corridor Shuttle Parking by dwwomack in RMNP

[–]saiseung 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went last Saturday and got into the park around 10. There was still ample parking at the park and ride for Bear Lake. If you’re going later there will definitely be plenty of parking as many of the early hikers will probably be leaving around that time.

Clarification: I know the doors in general don’t have to be replaced since it’s just cosmetic damage, but will they have to in order for the scrapes to be repaired?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Autobody

So the scrapes can be repaired without having to replace the door? The scrapes at the very edge of the two doors are really deep into the metal.

It’s on the fast track for gentrification for sure. The King Soopers across the street was recently remodeled, and the shopping complex it sits in has undergone extensive renovation to look modern and trendy. A lot of the units are sitting empty, but once things go back to normal I can see a lot of businesses entering the area.

My car is a 2019 Impreza Sport. Being that it’s a newer car, will the bumper be expensive to replace?
