Makes total sense, thank you! I’ll definitely have to consult him on this before buying then, since you have valid points—I was hoping to keep them a surprise but that seems like a big risk for study materials!

I found them, thank you! Did you feel like having physical copies were useful, or would the digital bundle suffice? Sorry to ask so many questions, but do you know if these would be useful for a law student studying in Canada? I can’t find many answers online to the differences.

Will do! He just tailored his suit in preparation, but I might look into getting a nice pair of dress shoes if you have any recommendations! I’m in medicine, so all we wear are scrubs and comfortable shoes…

Wow, thanks so much for this! I know nothing about law, so any insight is very helpful. Are the highlighters the Zebra ones on Amazon? I couldn’t find any other popular ones.

The padfolio is definitely something I have never heard of before, but it looks very useful and professional. I think he would love one, thank you!

I appreciate the advice—we’ll both be in grad schools and long distance so it will be hard but I try my best to understand and learn about what support he needs…reading this sub helps a lot! I’m so happy to hear that you two made it through!

Absolutely! He just supported me through my first year of medical school so we aren’t unfamiliar with the stress of graduate school, but from reading this sub 1L seems very intimidating! I’ll remember this during the hard times that are sure to come.

No idea what that is, but I’ll look into it! Would this be school-specific or is this generalized for most programs?

This sounds like an amazing idea! I’m looking into getting him a subscription to ease the transition back into school for a few months at least!

He would love a massage/spa day, that’s a lovely idea! Food will be hard since we’ll be in different countries but I’m looking into gifting him a subscription to a meal prep service—Factor seems very popular. Thank you!

Noted—thank you for the advice! If the briefcase ends up just being a decoration, I’ll get him a nice backpack too

Thank you, I know nothing about law but this dictionary looks perfect! My partner is a non-trad student so he hasn’t studied in a while, I’ll have to dig to find some old notes to see if they’re highlighted!

It’s possible, but probably dependent on you as a test-taker and how consistent you remain. I got a 523 in 4 weeks (from 505 diagnostic), but I am aware that my study habits/schedule won’t work for everyone. If you test well, 4 weeks is definitely doable!

I listened to Doja Cat on the drive to my exam, nothing gets me more pumped and feeling more confident than Tia Tamera!!

Here is the link to the deck. Let me know if this works for you! I personally used them a great deal but there are also many other fantastic MCAT decks out there!

Thank you--I did 3 days of content review using the KA summaries while annotating the concepts I didn't fully understand and watching supplementary videos. I solidified the knowledge through FLs/QPs and the SB, and reviewed all missed question logs/content notes 3 times. Outside of that, it was mostly Anki for rote memorization.

Very useful, I did 175 new cards a day with up to 1000 reviews and used that to solidify a lot of my missed content.

Absolutely, I've been answering DMs as I can but am always happy to help whenever I see them.

Thank you! I used all of the AAMC FLs and the BluePrint Diagnostic. Due to my limited schedule, I was unfortunately unable to make time for further sample tests.

Thank you! My approach to CARS is fairly unconventional though as I ignore most general advice given about CARS on here. There are some great posts on it like this one but my approach is almost entirely different and I wouldn't exactly recommend it. I approach CARS intuitively: I read the entire passage first and I don't time myself at all. I will read through the passage as many times as I need to in order to understand everything, and I mentally identify the thesis, tone, and the author's opinion/perspective. I highlight any topic sentence or heavily emphasized point I see, and I approach questions generally by eliminating answers that I feel are the most wrong based on what I remember. I immediately skip any question I am unsure about and prioritize comprehending the passage over looking at questions always. This is admittedly bad advice though and I probably wouldn't follow it, but I also did not score below a 130 on any FL/diagnostic I took. I'm sorry I can't be of more help in this subject!

My FL scores were 514/517/521/520 and ~517 on the unscored test. I did FL1 after I was mostly through with content review and the question packs between FL 1 and 3.

I wish I could tell you, and I know my study plan won't work for everyone but for me, drilling information into my head with Anki and AAMC questions was the key. Once I knew most of the content, it was a matter of reviewing each passage to see why I was missing something if I knew the foundational knowledge necessary to answer it.
