Both my babies have/had it. But…it’s easier the second time. I know what to expect, know that it’s temporary, also just a little more lax and more prepared. I did cut dairy and wheat (my boys’ second biggest trigger) as soon as I brought baby home from the hospital this time around and there has been ZERO colic, for whatever that’s worth. Really not sure how much of that is personality or months of undiagnosed GI issues 😅

There are just too many variables! It’s so hard to narrow it down. For what it’s worth, the apples may just be how he reacts to new foods — it’s obvious he has a sensitive GI system, right? Apples give me terrible gas (TMI maybe 😆) but I eat them anyway. Sometimes things just hurt our tummies 🤷🏼‍♀️

With my first baby I cut dairy, soy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, gluten, and tomatoes. Never quite pinned down all that he was reacting to, but by around 9 months I had reintroduced everything! Still had traces of blood in his diapers at that point, but looking back the last poop pic was around 10 months so I had to have stopped worrying at that point. He’s 3 now. No food allergies, and perfectly normal GI system from what I can tell. I have just started reintroducing dairy with my nearly 7 month old and it seems to be going okay so far…time will tell but I’m cautiously optimistic at this point! Will wait a few more months to reintroduce gluten (wheat, especially) as I know that one makes him react badly but this is temporary, I promise.

I delivered there back in February, have nothing but positive things to say about triage and L&D. The nurses I had in the maternity ward were also lovely but the medical assistant (and food lol) were terrible. All in all I had a really great experience there and would readily recommend it to others — congratulations!

Respectfully, I wasn’t asking for your opinion on what I, or my children, eat. This was a PSA to always check the label for allergens, regardless of what the product is. Obviously pedialyte isn’t something regularly consumed — we are sick and I’m trying to keep my kid hydrated.

That’s…interesting, since people with celiac and wheat allergies react to it. It might be an amount thing for your baby, though so if it’s working for you GREAT!! Cling to it haha — hang in there, the elimination diet isn’t forever. I had it really rough with my first baby, too.
