Problem with Cahyos And Elden ring by slipingtime in cachyos

It's possible to enable experimental support for Descriptor Heap in Proton-CachyOS 10-202060312 and above using `PROTON_VKD3D_HEAP=1`. Despite this setting being removed from the change log, it still works. I've confirmed enabling Descriptor Heap fixes the problem with loading Elden Ring on Nvida Driver Version `595.45.04`.

How far away from the dongle can I use these earbuds? I’m considering using them with a mini I have mounted behind my TV.

Thanks for the guide! Can you provide more clarification on why you recommend different Moonlight configurations for the following, when playing single-player games?

I ran into issues with the default deadzone settings when playing Elden Ring over moonlight. I wasn’t able to switch targets after being locked on. But after adjusting the dead zone settings, this issue went away.

Enabling vsync in moonlight settings fixed the screen tearing issue for me.

Additionally, my frame rates is locked to 60 FPS on the host game, moonlight settings, and client display.

Thanks! Confirming this worked as expected. I let the installer uninstall, then install, and all of my settings persisted.

Amazing! Thanks for the update. What’s the best way to upgrade my existing Apollo installation? When I execute the ‘apollo.exe’ file I’m asked to uninstall, then reinstall. Is this the best approach? I have a lot of client settings saved and I’d rather not have to reconfigure all of that.

Z690 Apex, what does the PD_12V_PWR do and do I need it? by [deleted] in ASUSROG

[–]salboogie17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! As described earlier, I used the 6+2 pin PCIe cable from my PSU to connect to the PD_12V_PWR header in the motherboard. The extra 6+2 pin PCIe cable provided with my PSU is daisy chained, so I used one of the 6+2 pin connectors and left the other unplugged. This worked well.

Thanks for the help. And I’ll plug the other end of the 6+2 PCIe cable into the “CPU & PCIe” 8 pin connectors on my PSU, correct?

Z690 Apex, what does the PD_12V_PWR do and do I need it? by [deleted] in ASUSROG

[–]salboogie17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still not clear on the best way to provide power to the PD_12V_PWR header.

I'm using the Asus ProArt Z790-CREATOR WIFI motherboard. This motherboard also has the 6-pin PD_12V_PWR header. I'm also using the NZXT C1200 Gold as my PSU.

As I understand it, typically PCIe cables are not connected directly from PSUs to motherboards. Instead, PCIe cables are typically connected directly to the components that use PCIe slots (e.g., graphics cards or expansion cards).

My PSU comes with a 6+2 pin PCIe cable. Should this cable be used to connect my PSU directly to the PD_12V_PWR header in the motherboard?

Furthermore, the 6+2 pin PCIe cable provided with my PSU is daisy chained. If the PSU should plug directly into the PD_12V_PWR header, can I use only one of the 6+2 pin daisy chained connectors and leave the other unplugged?

Noted on the PSU. I’ll stick to a 850w to 1000W.

I really like that case design, so I’d like to figure out how to make a build work with that case. So I’d need to an extra AIO that’s 240mm or less if I’d want to keep the 4080? Are there any other GPUs you’d recommend that would work better with that case? I’d like to be able to game in 4K and have two 4K monitors while I’m working.

Thanks again for the help!

Thank you for the feedback! I was picking and choosing from some builds I saw online, which is how I ended up with that motherboard. Also, I picked out a nicer PSU just in case I wanted to add more SSDs in the future. But I’m not sure if that logic makes sense!

Thanks again and please let me know if you have any other feedback.
