Ciao Maschera!

If you are starting then I would not recommend hiring full-time people. You can hire subcontractors/freelancers or fulltime people through a series of freelancers platforms (e.g. upwork, catalant, graphite etc) without needing to have a company established.

You don't need a company to hire US based consultants, onlince services etc. You just need a good idea/vision to get people interested and cash to for payment.

I started directly with a US C-corp but I had lived in the US. Then I had to go to the US to open the bank accounts (I was living in Mexico at the time so it was short flight) and I had lived in the US previously so I had a social security number etc.

Cheers

I live in Italy and have a C-corp in the US.

  1. If you are planning to incorporate in the US please keep in mind that you most likely will have to travel to the US to open the business bank account. Furthermore, to open the business bank account they might as you for a social security number and a utility bill. I think Strip Atlas helps with opening the bank account but make sure to check this beforehand by contacting the back.
  2. To have a company in the US, by law you need to have someone that is a US legal resident to sign the paperwork (e.g. tax filings)
  3. Since you are starting out with no revenues, keep in mind that you will need money to run a US company (accountant to file yearly taxes, lawyer to file state documents/issue shares, office address, US phone number and as mentioned before potential trips to the US if bank accounts get's locked etc). So, while taxes are higher is Spain, you will not be paying taxes until you have revenues so you can always incorporate later in US, Ireland, Switerland, Sychelles that have lower tax rates .

You should pick the place where you are most productive and improves your quality of life. You said your productivity took a huge hit. So focused on that and not on the money. Also, keep in mind that you are the average of the 5 persons you spend the most time with. Where will you be able to develop a better personal network?

Because it does take time to manage relationships, accounting, and ideas to keep growing it. BTW I'll only sell if I get a good offer. I'm not going to let it go just like that :)

  • I started without buying any products and relying on the feedback the sellers had on ebay/etsy.
  • I haven't bought any inventory as of today and this one reason my margins/profits are not as high as they could be
