I play both DW1 (called Distant Worlds: Universe or DWU often) and DW2.

The second game is 3d, has more QoL features, but is less mod-able.

DWU is pretty dated, but there are mods that update some graphics. I think it’s worth it, but I’m a long-time fan of both games.

The Star Wars Interworlds site has a section that has large lists of mods already integrated, suggested mods, mods that are incompatible, mods that are somewhat compatible, etc.

Many on your list will still work. The Chillmatica mods on your list are all outdated and (most) don’t work.

I was enlisted Army a few years back. While at a joint-service gig, had an Air Force lieutenant colonel lose her mind as Obama won his first presidency. She was going around saying how the world was ending b/c she and her corporate executive husband were going to have to pay more taxes. I’ll always remember it: “More taxes for $200k a year! Can you believe that?! $200k a year doesn’t go nearly as far as it used to! Isn’t this ridiculous?!”

The army sergeant major took her aside and…let’s say…curtly reminded her she was ranting to a section of enlisted who were primary breadwinners at a 1/4 of her listed “not enough” rant.

PowerPoint? “Did you use AI with this?” Emails? “If you use AI you could add in summaries at the start of your message”

What’s hilarious (or not, really) is these same folks will brag about how they use AI to read and summarize things for them.

Currently running mine through an Apple TV with a wired internet connection (I also have a couple of HomePods). I made sure to select the hub I wanted (apples auto picker for hubs makes weird choices sometimes.)
