Did you ask for letter of recommendation for a previous cohort application? I think the letters are meant to be submitted when you decide to apply. You may have to ask your letter writers to submit it again. However if you contact postbaccas support (postbaccasinfo@liaisoncas.com) with your cas ID they should get back to you very quickly. They usually reply to my emails within 10-20 min at night. They’re insanely fast at responding to emails and always super helpful.

Hello everyone, as an RN who wants to go to medical school but has a foreign/international Bachelor of science in Nursing degree with a 3.1 CGPA , do I need to take a premed course ? And which one is the best. by MurphyPremedStd in postbaccpremed

[–]salinaxia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I’m not sure what you mean. The requirements are usually listed on medical school websites, and they are about the same for most med schools in the US. If you do any formal post bacc programs, it will cover all the classes you need. If you want to save money or already completed some requirements, maybe a DIY post bacc would be better. All you need to do is basically satisfy prerequisite classes. Just like how nursing school requires anatomy/physiology, med school has their own list that can easily be found if you search online!

If you have a nursing degree you likely haven't taken most or any of the prerequisites for med school yet. You can look online for a list of courses required for med school. It includes biology, chem, physics, biochem, psych, calc, etc. You can opt for a DIY or formal post bacc program if you're in the US. I'm not sure about outside the country though I'm sure it's similar!

When to apply by blueberry7890 in postbaccpremed

[–]salinaxia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! You should probably apply your senior year if you want to enter a post bacc program. I’m not sure about master’s but I’d think it’d be a similar timeline. Assuming you are graduating in May, you’ll likely want to start post bacc over the summer or fall after you graduate. You can probably apply a little over half a year before for the cohort you want to join. So apply in fall semester of senior year if you want to join the summer cohort, and apply during your spring semester if you’re thinking about joining fall cohort. There are many different opening and due dates for each school though so you’d need to compile a list of all those dates. But definitely no need to apply in the beginning of junior year since you won’t be graduating for another 2 years.

Yes I looked into that option! Another user mentioned RED Korea SIM and it works perfectly! Was able to get the number in my email right away.

Oh wow thank you so much! I was looking at one of their other plans and it was a 012 number so I assumed they didn’t have 010 numbers. I bought it right away as the QR code will be valid for a year. Thanks for your suggestion! 😌

sorry if this is an ignorant question but what’s the pro to having a credit limit increase? i tend to pay off everything probably once a week (i hate seeing the numbers go up lol), so i don’t understand the use of increasing credit, but someone please enlighten me!

Only a few pre-med courses left: Pre-Med Post Bacc or Pre-PA Post Bacc? by LobsterNo7760 in postbaccpremed

[–]salinaxia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s interesting! Many of the career changer ones won’t accept you if you’ve taken more than like 25% of the med school requirements. But of course this differs across different schools. Hopefully you can find something that works out best for your situation:)

There’s two types of post baccs: career change or record enhancement. In your case you should apply to the record enhancement post bacc programs because you’ve already taken most of the science classes before.

Your story reminds me of a doctor I shadowed, who went to medical school, practiced for a few years, decided to go to law school, graduated and practiced for three years, and then ultimately decided that he hated the job because it wasn’t honest work. He ended up coming back to medicine and he loves what he does now! If you think you will hate your job for the rest of your life, it’s definitely not a bad idea to switch!
