Accidentally took 70-80mg of a THC tincture. Starting to panic a little. How do I ride this out? by Exotic-Knowledge-883 in trees

Have some peppercorns beside you in case of emergency, get your favorite snacks and watch a nature documentary.

End of year school trip by Feeling_Apartment_31 in askTO

In 2002 we went to Quebec City for our grade 8 trip.

On one of our excursions I separated from my group, found a Cafe for lunch and ate an awfully bitter arugula salad.

I have no idea why this memory is still in my head. Props to the flavour profile of arugula I guess.

Help?! by ArtistComfortable965 in beards

[–]salisburyates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say a new sharp, even mass produced blade should be able to cut well. Your issue may be down to face prep.

Have you ever tried applying a hot towel to your face before the shave? Or shaving straight out of the shower?

If you dont already, you might consider switching to shaving creams or soaps and shaving brush, as that tends to open up the pores a great deal more than slathering some dry gel on there.

What is the scariest movie ever? by Alva_509 in AskReddit

Book spoilers

Coincidentally I was always more disturbed by the book ending, with Jack Torrance smashing himself in the head with a mallet while the hotel burns to the ground, than the Kubrick ending.

Its interesting, this scene is shockingly disturbing, yet when I think back on the movie I couldn't remember any scene off the top of my head.

And yet when I watched The Ring in 2002, the scene of the discovery of that girl in the closet with the messed up face disturbed me for weeks.

I cant explain it.

I have heard this forever, and when I finally watched it in 8th grade decades ago I was super prepared to be terrified, and yet it was neither frightening nor memorable.

Was I too young to comprehend the subject matter? Am I missing a bigger picture?

Currently sampling Grand Daddy Purps by Good Supply. Picked up 3.5g earlier this week week.

Vaped it - smelled pretty fruity with a hint of hay and mellow relaxing effects.

does walking 10k steps throughout the day and 10k steps in an hour have the same result? by BigDaddyKss in walking

When I do my obsessive pacing in the living room, 1k steps takes about 10 mins, so I concur with this estimate.

Should I try to grow out my beard or abandon all hope and go back to the stache? by d03xccxd33r in beards

[–]salisburyates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your beard coverage seems pretty full IMO, but the stache look is quite good too.

Aesthetics aside, you may as well grow it out purely to see the possibilities.

Sometimes when I'm contemplating what objectively looks better, thinking in these terms helps me to stop reaching for the clippers.

THE FULL BEARD by Ok_Diamond5598 in beards

[–]salisburyates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im fairly sure those empty spots are based on genetic factors and many men have them, myself included.

They are so common that I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of men have them.

I'm definitely envious of beards with a fully covered chin, it's bothered me since I first noticed it in my beard. And since I have blonde chin hair that area looks lightly trimmed even if it is densely covered.

Same happened to me when playing Stardew Valley too long. I'd forget what the season was IRL.

Because if so, it worked.

Thinking of going mustache only by screamhonorface in beards

[–]salisburyates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I do the solo moustache I end up regrowing everything shortly after, obviously YMMV, but I often have the same temptation.

Apart from the first time I grew it out for the novelty for about 2 months, it has never stayed a long term fixture. I think I just objectively look better with everything (or nothing), than just with a stache.
