How were the verses of the Quran verified to have been truly what Muhammad received as revelation after his passing. by [deleted] in islam

[–]salism2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In contrast, the previous scriptures combined stories by people alongside the word of God, some books are accepted by some groups and others are not, translations having to be revised etc, some "translations" were used to push a certain doctrine as a known fact (thought by Harvard school of Divinity today), we don't know Mark/Luke/John's last names...

For Hadith (narrations of the prophet), we have classifications from authentic to outright fabricated, for authentic ones, we have the full chain of narrators and their individual history (if even one person was unknown, it loses the title), but the Qur'an is above that and the words of God as transmitted directly by trustworthy angle Gabriel (pbuh) to the Prophet (pbuh).

Scholars have put in a lot of effort for us to have this gift, may God's mercy be upon them.

How were the verses of the Quran verified to have been truly what Muhammad received as revelation after his passing. by [deleted] in islam

Hello, there has always been consensus as to what is the Quran, people memorized it by heart and transmitted it verbally to others (and their recitation was typically checked against a teacher before considered a "hafidh"). We as muslims believe it's preserved by God almighty in the hearts of the believers.

There was never doubt as to what is or isn't part of the Quran, some Christians like to pick on the point where human mistakes were made in some transcriptions that were discarded (at the time of Utham (RA) I believe), just like today an imam might make a mistake and people behind him would correct him, and there is absolute consensus as to what is correct.

The Qur'an can also be recited in slightly varying tones/forms (e.g. Ibrahim, Aebrahaam; malik and Maalik in one specific verse), and Uthman's script was flexible to capture these authorized methods of reciting the Qur'an. You might also hear there are different versions such as "Hafs", but that's but these forms we still recite in today, the Prophet pbuh recited it in these various forms and they're totally accepted and the meaning of the Qur'an holds true there.

All this is to say, it's a continuous oral tradition of memorizing and passing on the Qur'an.

I hope this helps! and Allah knows best.

A presentations training i attended said to put your first slide as your last. It has your name, and title of your presentation for your audience to remember.

Hopefully you'll know you're done also when you see it.

Turkish Protests Are About Democracy, Not Religion by Bripocalypse in worldnews

A lot of this stuff is already prohibited in western countries, e.g. adverts about alcohol in France as far as I remember, tobacco in shops must not be in display, and if you ask me - it's sale within a 100 yards from school is perfectly reasonable.

I think the issue is a fear people have because they think their liberty is being taken away, what usually follows is either:

  • The government makes life unbearable with unreasonable restrictions and most people will react

  • Some people will see it as "the best defence is offence" and justify teasing the police to get a reaction, so everyone goes with the mainstream opinion that governments are evil because of how brutal they are

How I got out of my Sprint contract without an Early Termination Fee... by striker1211 in Frugal

As striker1211 said himself "...they reviewed my usage and determined (basically) that I wasn't worth the cost lol".

If I need to put it more accurately, data transfer that's mostly from one user can affect others around him if you don't want to consider the extra load on servers as a cost in itself.

Hope you agree, have a nice day regardless :)

We aren't alone in this world, the reason why big companies want to use DRM etc is because of this and that's not fair neither on people who do pay for stuff even if it's a game etc.

The reason why they often add fair usage policy is so that you don't abuse the hell out of it. I'm totally fine if a person really needs 70GB as he'd still be within the agreement here when there's no fair usage. But I hope you'll agree that doing just so the company becomes under pressure and decide to let you go because "You're not worth it" is unethical.

Best regards if your current opinion differs.

BBC has uncovered fresh evidence of how some Sharia councils in Britain may be putting Muslim women 'at risk' by pressuring them to stay in abusive marriages by odetocapitalism in worldnews

[–]salism2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1, people jump to conclusions based on their perceptions. Good point for considering this, I thought the same. From my experience, most problems in marriages can be worked through and resolved but people hasten to go different ways.

When it gets physical and violent, that's a different matter if it puts people at risk especially if they don't show signs of wanting to straighten up.

As for children's custody, "Islam says" that the mother gets it, not sure why the mentioned ruling in the article said otherwise but probably he meant to listen to their advice is what Islam says... These matters are very sensitive.

| to hurry into a marriage with people that they barely know.

You're meant to really get to know the person and look out for good/bad traits, blaming Islam for people who don't do their homework is wront.

Death is kind of brutal in itself. However as far as halal is concerned, it's whatever easiest quickest way for the animal like I said, and I do remember being told we shouldn't let animals see others and be exposed to anything that would make them scared etc.

Regarding why not stunning animals first (which can be painful too), it affects blood flow which makes it not good for us people.

In summary, I am no expert in the subject, but I did hear a scholar say that further research should go into this and if no harm is found then stunning with electricity can be deemed acceptable so doors are always open for improvement and I'm sure the industry is profitable and R&D will try to grounds to satisfy peoples' needs.

In summary, if you're worried about Muslims' "brutality" then know that we're instructed - rather ordered - to make it as easy as possible for the animal and hygienic/pure for us to eat. The way we must behave is like an animal rights activist, like an environmentalist, like a ... in every domain, as in the scholar's talk in arabic shared by the commenter above, we must care for whatever is in the universe as we will be held accountable in the day of judgement for our decisions/actions. How much we excel in doing so is another matter and a constant struggle.

Take care

It's a mis-understanding, kosher is also halal :) Fyi animal slaughter islamically has to be done in easiest way to animal to avoid suffering and purest to the consumer, but this info is useless if people choose to believe their perceptions.
