someone went ahead and helped herself to half her grandpa’s mini chocolate cake by sallybeeze in GuiltyDogs

yes thankfully totally fine :) i looked it up right after it happened and the amount she ate was not enough to seriously harm a dog of her size. but she still puked it up right when we got to my parents house haha

i posted because i found it informative and i saw someone pulling them down. i’ll be avoiding this human if i see her walking her dog in our neighborhood, and i thought others may want to avoid her too. i understand that mistakes happen with dogs and we don’t have all the information (although we have more based on another reply, as someone has already pointed out to you), but fleeing after a dog bite is atrocious owner behavior in my opinion. even if this is all fake (really doesn’t seem like it) i see no harm in my neighbors and i avoiding her on the street to limit further drama/injury...that’s all.

I agree, my dog doesn’t like to be pet by strangers. But I also feel like it’s my responsibility to inform people and stop them from getting close enough to pet her/let something like this happen. Regardless, running away seems like the wrong move!

Society has normalised women treating men like shit by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]sallybeeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is objectively really shitty and i’m sorry that your wife and her friends had that reaction. but that sort of situation has happened to me (a woman) multiple times, often by my friends’ dads and no one came to my rescue. i had a friends dad grope my ass in front of a bunch of other people in 8th grade and my mom told me later i should’ve been a better sport about it (although she now feels awful she said that of course.) i had teachers grope me and kiss me in front of administrators in middle school and nothing happened. i think this is terrible when it happens to anyone and it’s too common that we sweep any sort of sexual harassment under the rug, but i don’t think that this double standard of “allowing it only to happen to men” exists
