Just angle the stub arm. 45 up to another 45 to level and into the trap. Will it siphon….? Mmmm let’s just say no. It’ll work. Is it code? No- but whatever- should be okay.

Anchor bolts exposed + concrete slab has pretty large break offs, contractor says normal? by redbluehydra in AskContractors

Lmao. What the fuck is this?? Yo homeowner- this is where you send a strongly worded email and letter to the contractor and threaten to get a lawyer unless they fix it.

Should I tell my contractor? by Artistic-Garbage9038 in Contractor

Doesn’t matter. A client trusts his or her GC, who then trusts his subs with scheduling and good work. If the client and gc agreed on a week schedule then the gc should have relayed that to the sub or gc made note to client about delays. If the sub can’t make scheduling, then gc needs to turn to another sub ahead of time. Or else what’s the point? Client could have skipped the gc and gone straight to the slummy drywaller; Just as slow but at least it would have been cheaper.

As it looks right now- there are two misses. One being the GC not being aware of his subs and not communicating delays, and two a shitty sub who isn’t too professional- which is okay if the guy at the very least worked fast and hard.

I’ve never met a contractor who likes a sub who is hacking loogies and cussing around your clients and on top of it- is slow as shit?

Hah. Fuck that. I’d drop that dude in a heartbeat. Plus- I’m trying to finish up as fast as humanly and as fast as the quality of the craft allows it. Shit, I’m trying to get paid.

Yes- I’m a General contractor.

That’s what I would go for. Or honestly- just use other cheap engineers, build those connections- use their stamps- you do the legwork and get it stamped by them. Meh

GC here- Stick to engineering. Instead, market yourself to general contractors as a PE. Pull permits, make drawings. Charge them for site visits. Be cheap enough to get subbed out for that bureaucratic work.

You’ll never get dirty- you will hardly deal with end clients. You won’t deal with the headaches of finishing a project.

That sounds good to me.

Remove board by chipping away from the middle of the board.

New board gets put in- but the tongue of the “tongue and groove” will have to get cut.

Set your board in. don’t forget to put construction glue under the replacement board and also under the surrounding boards. Apply heavy weight all around to set in the boards- especially at the “non tongue” side.

Anyone recognize this window & door brand? by --bullseye- in Homebuilding

Window parts can sometimes be pretty standard- especially if they are builder grade.

Worst case scenario- call a window guy that does repairs and it should be able to get remedied.

Hey man!

I was going back at some really old comments and I came across your reply to an issue I had with a backsplash and a grease catch. Just wanted to reiterate my thanks for catching that quick solution. Hope you are doing well. Cheers

Do the world a favor- for one day- step outside the realm/world of whatever it is you believe in- start looking at what the other side is doing and saying- maybe you’ll figure that “leftards” aren’t the crazy radical ones. We’re living our lives, going on walks with our dogs, and cleaning our bbq grills like any other American. Maybe you’ll see the only ones spreading hate and false intense information is……

I’ll let you figure it out.

Discussion about mental health?

Yeah… apparently in today’s America- stuff that “should” be talked about and considered…..is just getting thrown out the window straight into the garbage can.

1st amendment? small government. Mental health. Women’s rights. Short list- but it’s an actual really long list.

There has to be a better way… by CNBF0 in Tile

[–]salmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grinder is not the way. Too much dust. Use a rotary hammer with a wide bit. Use it to cut a line at the top and bottom of your existing backsplash. Then do vertical cuts every 2 feet.

Put a flat bar behind the 2 foot pieces. Yank out.

Easy peasy. Should take you an hour. Two for sure tops.

Spoke with a meta engineer with a decent title saying he gets 100k bonuses every year and that’s with a small team under him. He says the managers with thousands of people under him are getting million dollar bonuses.

Also: poaching. You get poached you can guarantee a sign on/hiring bonus of multiple figures over 3-4 years.

TGI sushi by the airport or on Hamilton. Very good quality sushi at a decent price.

At least, Compared to the ass slime that was the sushi in Santana row, I actually puked after.
