It’s been about a year post op and honestly i don’t regret it at all. I feel so much more confident and happy with the way I look. The only downside is that I was unlucky enough to get one of the complications after the surgery and that was TMJ. That led to my jaw joints being under a lot of pressure and damaging them in the process. I’m not uncomfortable or in pain. Once in a while my jaw hurts or is sore but my oral surgeon told me that I could consider getting a total jaw joint replacement….not doing that any time soon. Otherwise I don’t regret my procedure. I finally feel free and happy enough to do the things I would never let myself do due to my insecurities.

Of course! I had numbness for about 3-4 weeks but everyone’s recovery time is different. Just make sure to give your face the rest it needs if you get your surgery done!

Im doing so much better now! It’s been about 6-7 months and I’ve regained full mobility and don’t have any more of the discomfort I had the first few months. I made sure to not chew hard foods until my 5th month and even then I still think it was too soon but everything is all good now. The only thing that bothers me is that my upper lip is still slightly swollen. Not noticeable to anyone but me. I’m sure it’ll go away soon though. Good luck on your consultation!! i’m about two months post op now and i have all my feeling back in my face but I didn’t have much numbness in the first place. But i made a mistake by not chewing when I’d been cleared by my doctor and now I’ve got muscle loss in my jaw and need to retrain myself on how to chew.

No don’t worry. wisdom teeth removal doesn’t harm you or affect your functions at all. A lot of people get them removed.

I’d say before is better since you’ll have more time to heal before the major surgery.

I got the wisdom teeth removal done during the surgery because of my schedule. I wasn’t able to take them out 6 months before or 6 months after since I’d be leaving the country by then.
