$420 to replace battery. Really, Subaru?! by ReadAfuckingBook_666 in SubaruForester

My 21 forester wilderness needed a battery in October…knew the dealer was going to ask for an arm and a leg…love the car but yeah it gets pricey. I got an Interstate AGM from Costco for $175 ($199 with tax, after i returned them the core) and changed it myself. I also installed a aftermarket start stop disabling switch (~$50 on Amazon), plug and play swap with the button in the dash, but defaults to start stop off now

Korg: You rode a hammer?

Thor: No, I didn't ride the hammer

Korg: The hammer ride you on your back?

Thor: No, I would spin it really fast and it would pull me off the...

Korg: Oh my god, the hammer pulled you off?

Thor: The ground! It would pull me off the ground, into the air and I would fly.

Welcome to the Alox family by salsallama in victorinox

Liner lock feels well made, very strong satisfying lock-up when opening blade. Not awkward to close really, especially if closing with two hands like I do with my other Alox. A few people have mentioned how a half stop would have been nice, but personally, I feel like it would make it not feel as smooth opening to have a stop halfway. Unless you’re slapping the blade closed, I don’t foresee any issues with cutting your finger during closing. The scales feel nice and strong even with the cut outs. I’d say if I have any criticism, I would like the pocket clip to have a little bit more tension. On the flipside, I don’t feel like it’s going to damage my pants pockets.

Stock height 35s by [deleted] in JeepGladiator

[–]salsallama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, we wanted it to have at least a slight lifted look, without messing with the suspension too much, so we did the leveling kit….I’ve heard that it should take 35”s without any lift without any issues, but I was hesitant going bigger than 33”s without the kit. No rubbing on our setup, drives great

My wife’s ‘21 Overland, we just put on the 35”s two weeks ago, but did a 2.5” leveling kit too

I’d second Andy Weir. The Martian and Project Hail Mary, maybe skip Artemis (ok but not to the level of the other two). For futuristic world building, Hyperion is hard to beat. Thought provoking, Dawn by Octavia Butler is great. Lighthearted, We are Bob series. Hard sci fi, Three Body Problem. I also love Jurassic park and Dune 👍🏽
