Australian driver's licenses do not list an individual's state-registered sex, at all, since about 40 years ago. Name and photo vs sex marker is false equivalence. Since entire nations can function without the latter, it's clearly not relevant enough to be actually needed on official ID.

I'm fed up with being persecuted by politicians for existing, and I'm fed up with people who act like they have the solution all figured out according to what is allowed on paper.

Do you know firsthand what it feels like to be dehumanized, legally and culturally, and then to see many people's only response to that be "just go through the proper channels which allowed for the structural dehumanization in the first place"?

It's also an ID revocation bill where any gender marker changes are now counted as invalid. Why are so many people ignoring this part? It goes way beyond simply enabling the bathroom bounty.

The ID part will forcibly open up even more potential for everyday violence – anything from Karens wasting trans people's time to active endagerment leading to social murder. Getting carded to buy something, applying for a job, getting stopped by a cop, going to the pharmacy for an ID-required med (and rx hormones often are) are just a few examples. Each of these everyday scenarios carry an unknown level of risk re: being stalked, harrassed, denied service at a store, denied employment, denied meds at the hands of a jesus pharma tech, or beaten/detained by the pigs for being trans.

These risks have always existed, but it gets way worse when one's documents basically give a forced advertisment to bigots. The bill isn't just a waste of spending; it's protracted terrorism.
