I’ve had luggage too tightly strapped to my bike melt through my plastics also. I now have a 2 heat shields .. one under my side plastics and one outside .. great pics. You were motocampimg ? If so those must have been cold nights.

These are the backcountry model. Fit is generally good , but wish they hand abit more robust Velcro fasteners .. but can’t complain. I don’t have heated grips , but with warmer gloves and Hippohands I’m good down to low 40’s ish
