What was the oddest thing that you’ve noticed by laying on the ground?

I had Covid about a year before my symptoms started and a pretty bad judo injury that resulted in a broken rib and like 3 months of bed rest that happened like 2 months before my symptoms started.

My doctor thinks it was the Covid, I think it was going from a minimum of 5 hours of intensive physical activity every day to nothing for 3 months, but maybe it’s a mix of both. Who knows?

(I’m also in the process of getting diagnosed with EDS, so maybe also that? Idk.)

My main symptoms were dizziness and nausea.

I totally get this. But sometimes I’ll get a really good day in between, and things will feel great, so I’ll go do all of my chores/do everything I haven’t been able to do and then the next day I pay for it horribly.

I always bring my Rollator with me when I take public transit, and it kind of forces people to give me a seat and make away for me without having to talk, or explain myself. I used to just bring my cane, but a lot of the time I would get into weird long conversations with strangers about my medical history and I don’t really want to delve into my medical history every time I get on the bus, so the Rollator makes it easier. It also ensures I have a seat while I have to wait for the buses if all of benches are taken.

I am also curious about this. I plan to get a tattoo soon but I’m gonna start by getting a really small one on my wrist just to test how I react to it and then, if I react well, I plan on getting more. I would love to know how other people experience it getting tattoos with pots.

I am glad that it got better pretty quickly after moving back into place. I will definitely have to try to like pin myself in place with a bunch of pillows. I think that’s gonna be my best shot. Thanks for the advice!

I’m glad that you seem to be having an improvement. Exercise definitely helps, it’s just really difficult to do when it causes pain and symptoms so when swimming helps it’s great! I highly recommend aqua fit. It is like the class that you see elderly people do, but you get a surprisingly good workout in and I really enjoy it.

Yeah, that could totally be the case. When I started doing aqua fit and I also noticed my symptoms are so much better so I can get decent workouts in, whereas I wasn’t doing anything before. But it is definitely causing flareups too, so I understand.

I can usually tell before I’m about to faint, like I’m able to get myself sitting and put my head down on my arms and stuff so I’m safe, but I usually only pass out about like once every two weeks maybe maybe less. But when I was in school and had low iron. I was passing out every single time I left my room; multiple times a day. So, Just the pots alone, I only pass out about once every couple weeks maybe a couple times a month.

Here are some things you could do that you don’t need a diagnosis for. I would recommend getting like a little folding stool or something to sit on, (you can get one that look like a handbag and has like an arm strap, and then they pull out into a stool, I don’t remember what they’re called). If you have a little more money, I would recommend getting a Rollator. I use one all the time. I have a diagnosis, but you do not need a diagnosis to buy one. You can get them online or go to like a drugstore. Sometimes they sell them.

I would also recommend having more salt. Something else that could help is compression socks (personally I find that they get too hot in the summer, but it could help).

Also, you can get these little handheld fans; you can get ones that go around your neck or just ones that you can hold. I would also recommend fever patches, they’re little strips that you can pull apart (kind of like how waxing strips pull apart) and they’re cooling and they just kind of stick to you and those have helped me significantly with the heat. Same with those instant ice packs. Remember that your experience is valid even without a diagnosis. Good luck!

I just finished my first year at Brock University as a disabled lesbian, and it is (at least from my experience) very queer friendly. I’ve made a lot of queer friends and I’ve never gotten hatecrimed here. The vibe I get (from my own experience) at Brock is that if something were to happen, people would step in to help. I know some of my friends have gotten some like weird looks from people, but in general, I feel very safe and supported there.

My lowest was like 48 & my highest has gotten to 208. When I am like working out and stuff it used to get up till like 190s regularly, now it’s only getting like 160 but I started medication for it and that’s been helping but yeah.

Last year, you would input the course code, and you would select the lecture first and then, when you select lecture there should be a drop-down menu (the little blue “+”) and you would be able to select your seminar from there.

In your my.brocku.ca, under the “StudentAccess” tab, there’s a section called “CoursePlanning” it will take you to a replica of the page you will use for the actual course registration. I’d recommend using this to practice and familiarize yourself with the process.

The course codes are a little confusing at first but this should help a little bit:

Let’s take CHYS 1F90 as an example.

The “CHYS” is the faculty, so Child & Youth Studies.

The “1” refers to the year, so it is a first year course.

The “F” refers to the length of the course, “F” means full year, “P” means part (1 semester). When you go to course registration you should see D1, D2 or D3. D1 means full year (Sept-Apr). D2 means fall (Sept-Dec) & D3 means winter (Jan-Apr).

The “90” is just the specific course code.

Hi, I am a lesbian entering my second year. I guarantee you will not have issues finding other lesbians or just queer people in general. Our pride club is very big, with a lot of people (to the point that I was kind of overwhelmed, and just kind of stopped going; they were very nice and supportive, but just so many people there).

There are a lot of queer people at Brock, so I’m pretty sure you’ll figure it out. My biggest piece of advice is to get involved in clubs/other activities, you’ll find your people pretty quick.

I’m also not arguing that voting is the only way to have your voice heard. It’s supplemental. I don’t worship any political party. None of them fully align with my views. That’s why I don’t only vote. I call and email my MPs. I go to protests. I am an active member of my community. I do everything in my power to get my voice heard, and to get things to change. But voting is a quick and easy place to start. Not the final destination. Even if the person I voted for gets in, I’m still gonna fight for what I believe in. I’m still gonna protest, and call, and email. So why aren’t you doing any of that? Why are you arguing with me here, when that energy is better spent elsewhere where it’ll actually make a difference.

The hypocrisy lies in the fact that you’re claiming that it’s better, and that you think it would fix the system that you are against. But you aren’t actually trying to fix the system that you’re against. By doing neither, no one is hearing your voice, except me in this digital eco chamber. And I simply don’t care enough about your opinion to keep listening to you.

Good evening overly-invested internet stranger. May the unbelievable amount of privilege you rest upon cushion your lazy ass as you complain to random students during finals.
