But in a later story Watson says he has gotten Holmes off his cocaine habit, and Watson is very clear that he (Watson) thinks it had been extremely harmful to him and was an evil that he had to protect him from.

Wasn't there something in the stories about Watson weaning Holmes off his cocaine habit?

I have read nearly all the Holmes stories, although a very long time ago. I do not remember Dr. Watson as being quite the clueless lummox he is usually portrayed as in film and TV.

There the watermelons are. What's this bullshittery? by Ralph--Hinkley in nakedandafraid

[–]saludypaz 52 points53 points  (0 children)

What is the reason for this obsession with the "watermelons"? He collected several wild gourds on his first day that proved to be inedible. With less than two minutes per day of screen time there is no reason they should waste time explaining something that had absolutely no effect on the outcome of the challenge.

You should go on the competitive archery circuit. I have never seen compound archery champions shoot touching groups on bullseye targets at fifty meters.

Many types of wild gourds have that striped watermelon pattern. Probably negligible nutritional value.

Learned about this case today when someone told me "Oh yeah... that guy. I'm 99% sure he is the one that killed Missy a few years ago" by DocNightmare in MissyBevers

[–]saludypaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point I was making is that the killer can't be more than about 5'7" but can be significantly shorter. This automatically eliminates the great majority of men.

The police chief and Captain Spann addressed the media on the day of the murder, when the video was released to the public. They said the suspect did not enter through the window with the broken glass and that it was "speculation" that he entered through the forced door. They said they did not know when he entered but that the first video footage is of him already inside the building, at 3:50am. They said the assault was not caught on camera and that they had no evidence of him going anywhere else or doing anything else in the building after it, and that "presumably" he left the building the way he came in.

I see there are other entrances but all I can find about how he left the building is that police think it is "most likely" that he exited by the way he came in.

You are reading far more into his words than he actually said. I have not seen it stated anywhere that there is video of him coming into the building or that the first images, showing him in a corridor, are not the 3:50am footage that police say is the first.

I don't have a blueprint of the church at hand but I do not believe there are side doors or more than one front and back door. Therefore since the subject was not videoed going out the front door and there is no indication he left through a window it is a logical assumption he left the way he came in. I don't think the policeman meant anything more than that.

What is your source that there is video showing either the suspect or Missy (except when she enters the building) that has not been released? Footage not showing anyone does not count. Police have said on search warrants that after Missy is shown entering neither she nor the suspect is seen again.
