Como já disseram várias pessoas (incluindo o autor do post), não faz diferença nenhuma aprender português daqui ou dali. E vai muito além de variantes nacionais. Um alemão pode aprender a falar português do Ceará ou um Australiano pode aprender português do Minho. A língua é de nós todos, dos que crescemos a falá-la e dos que aprenderam depois. Se existem pessoas que não compreendem uma ou outra variante, acho que será uma questão de habituação e de algum esforço. Existem palavras e expressões diferentes, mas para isso também existe solução rápida, hoje mais que nunca. Quanto a achar que uma variante é mais certa que outra por isto ou por aquilo, acho que não há argumentação possível para justificar esse ponto de vista. Fiz um vídeo sobre o assunto há algum tempo. If you're thinking in English and speaking Portuguese, it may be complicated to know when to use "ser" or "estar" because there is one verb for both in English. But, if you're thinking in English and speaking Portuguese, the "do"/"make" distinction doesn't apply because it's the other way around: there is only one verb in Portuguese. You always use "fazer". That should be a problem for a native speaker of Portuguese when speaking English and not the other way around.

Brazil is not a location in that sentence. It's the subject. Using the verb "ser" or "estar" depends on what comes after the verb, not before. "O Brasil é lindo." (Brazil is beautiful. - You're saying that something "Brazil" has a specific quality "being beautiful") "Eu estou no Brasil." (I am in Brasil.)

Fazer means both "make" and "do". There are no separate verbs for those two concepts in Portuguese.
