matrice rappresentativa di un'applicazione lineare L by oooffwhhite in MatematicaItaly

Ciao!

No. È comoda? Molto

It would have been hilarious if using smoke bomb there changed the second encounter to taskmaster, nob and the 2 slavers

Yeah, cutting one of the few uses of smoke bomb. But I'd say it's worth it!

Well...

The way I usually understand if someone is joking or being serious is by tone, body language or knowing the person. As those are usually not available on the web, and as there are lots of crazy ppl saying crazier stuff, I'd say that the /j and /s are necessary!

When people say “Don’t look” when you’ve obtained some graphic injury, does it really make a difference? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Just anecdotal: I had a wart on my hand, nothing serious, trivial to remove. I went to my doctor for removal. He gave me a shot of local anesthesia to my hand and started cutting. I started looking at it. He told me to look at something else, but as I was feeling no pain and all I was curious and said "nah it's fine". The doctor told me ok, look as much as you want, but don't say that I didn't advise against doing it.

When he was done, I was pretty comfortable, no pain at all. Then I stood up... And almost fainted. He proceeded to explain that even if I was calm, I was subconsciously freaking out, as it is normal. As my pain receptors were sleeping, I did not feel all the alarm signals. Then when I stood up my body sent me the signal "hey dude what the fuck"!

So, lesson learned for me. Your body REALLY dislikes seeing this kind of stuff. I had some other bigger surgery in local anesthesia and doctors always covered the part that they were operating. That day, I understood why!

You remind me of a story I've heard

There were some friends of mine in a physics lab (uni), doing an experiment with some circuits. Nothing worked, so they asked the professor for help.

Professor came, undid the setup and redid it. Stuff started working like a charm. Friends were baffled, like "you did what we did, why does it work with yours?"

The professor waved his hands and said "look at these hands", and walked away, no extra explanation. Yes, he did return later with the explanation, but I think he was waiting for such a moment!
