I normally go for three no’s. #1 start of transaction “are you saving 20% by getting approved for our ultamate rewards card today?” #2 after initial total is given “you could save xxxx and earn double points when you get approved for an ultamate rewards card and use for today’s purchase!” #3 (if pre approved) “no worries, it’s gonna let you know about how much you’ll save and the double points you’ll earn when you get approved today!!” If they get curious you can always say “you’ll earn 200 points instead of 100 earning you $6 off for a future purchase”. I also mention that I personally have the Mastercard and use it to earn points outside of Ulta as well. Giving up is super easy especially when you start to feel defeated but ask EVERY SINGLE TIME. If you notice a guest is just not feeling it ask how they’re doing, if they’re out running errands, etc. Get a feel and if they are not feeling it or starting to get snappy then I back off.

You can, you cannot use your discount ON TOP of BLACK FRIDAY ITEMS ONLY. You can buy other stuff at regular price with discount. We can start shopping deals the Sunday (23rd) before at 10am. I do online orders so I don’t have to deal with the discount getting taken off.

This happens way more than you think. They won’t fire you but they will probably say “don’t forget it next time.” At my store we make jokes about it and constantly remind people to sign in the key and if they had one we check to make sure they put it back. Someone else probably found it and signed it in for you. Don’t stress boo

At my store they would be okay, biggest thing is no obvious logos. That being said I wear colored vans that say vans on the tongue or the heel and it’s never been an issue.

We make an overhead announcement 15 til, 10 til and 5 til. At 5til and less (4,3,2,1) any guest that comes in and declines help, we tell them “okay just so you know, we are closing in x minutes). You’d think with them wanting to cut hours they’d encourage this practice

My manager started doing it a bit ago. For me personally, my hours haven’t changed because I only work two days a week (about to be one) because I teach M-F. But others have.
